Because they are the target of the vote. No democracy allows you to vote for or against yourself.

You're joking, right? ALL democracies allow you to vote for yourself. You've not seen the PMs and Presidents out casting their votes come election day? No-one is disenfranchised for being involved.

But in the case where the party is perfectly split in terms of opinions, the issue arises where the first person to resort to using vote dismiss has a clear advantage. In the example of wanting big/small pulls with a 50/50 split, is there really even a good reason to vote kick someone?

Exactly. It should require 3 out of 4 members to agree on the vote dismiss for it to go through.

It'd make more sense to divide the queue into two, one for big pulls and one for small pulls. And that just seems silly to me.

Only 2 people need to discuss big or small pulls and that's the tank and healer. If one is uncomfortable with big pulls just stick to the smaller ones. It's usually only a couple of minutes difference anyway if that.

Really though, should they just turn this into a single player game? Are people really this incapable to use the vote kick responsibly and work together to finish dungeons? Am I just super lucky and not encountering horrid abuses of vote kick all the time?

What about needing 75% of yes instead of 50%, which mean in dungeon you need 100% of yes instead of 66%, and in 24man raid you won't get kicked out because 4 people wanted their pal in.

This happened to me recently. All i can say is try to remember their name report and blacklist. The only time they will change it is if it happens on a large enough scale to warrant some kind of change.

On the other hand, anyone who's been on either side of this situation knows that if a vote kick is initiated, then someone will likely get kicked.
Simple. Who is the tank? the tank decides the speed of the dungeon

Unless two party members strongly disagree, in which case "Bye tank".

Not very often someone will vote kick the tank as they may end up waiting quite a while for a new one
