    The size of Aldenard

Actually this can include the question of Hydaelin (the planet, not the crystal) But it mostly concerns Aldenard.

While the current world map has no place for Meracydia so we can't be sure how big that was, as far as we know the three largest continents (Aldernard, Ilsabard and Othard) are roughly the same size. And they each take up a considerable part of the planet's area.

Yet Aldenard seems very very small if you actually measure it. Granted unlike 1.0 we can't go all the way from one and to the other, but beside Cartenau, there does not seem to be any large chunks missing from the open world map.

After measuring the distance from the southernmost tip of Southern Thanalan, all the way to the Northern border of the Sea of Clouds with the help of some arbor call, it turned out that Aldenard is only around 7 kilometers across.

I ran more than that today and yesterday. For fun.

Is it possible that Aldenard really is that small? Does the Lorebook say anthing regarding the matter?

zones can't be measured like that. there are huge chunks of desert in Southern Thanalan players can't access, there are many sectors of Sea of Clouds besides the zone we fight in. every area is much bigger than the playable area in the game.

In short: Nope, you can't accurately measure Aldenard like that, since the in-game world is compressed for our convenience.

It's worth noting that we don't even get to see the cities in their entirety - there are various areas and districts that are closed off to us, which I'm curious about.

Thanks fore the link. ^^ After a quick search I saw it posted there that the lorebook does indeed talk about it. Or at least the Vylbrand - Doma distance. Which makes me wonder if we really spent two months on that ship.

Poor Alphie. Two months locked inside a ship with only two girls around, one of which is her sister. Or three, depending on the player.

Concerning Aldenard, does the Lore book still mention West Shroud? Where is the new Lichenweed (Feast Area) located if not there?
