That's a good reason to keep the polls separate. Some core questions could be the same, while some would obviously go in different directions.

For example, current players might be asked what they like about the game and how they feel about specific changes/patches, while they might ask those who have stopped playing why they left and what would make them reconsider returning. Plus, it's a good opportunity to put a bug in their ears about 2.0.
