Do I need Armorer lvl 70 for Revelers Barding?

Or only the materials? Also, what are the advantages of leveling a crafter? Do I make gold at higher lvls? Or gain bonus stats to gear as in other MMOs?
I never leveled crafter or gatherer since I am afraid it is not worth the time.

Yes, you do need level 70 armorer. or you can give the materials to someone who can make it and have them craft it for you. You can make A LOT of money from crafting, however, it requires a lot of time, effort and money put in to get to the point of making money. I would start with gathering, as you can make a lot of money from it and its very easy to get the hang of.

gathering is mostly click click click on things like a robot. some people find it boring, some find it relaxing. crafting is a little minigame where you use your buttons in an order that completes the progress bar without fully depleting the durability of the items. yeah in this game having them leveled increases your options for earning money and brings convenience like repairing your own gear instead of walking to an NPC.

Crafting is boring now, too. You can currently craft the most difficult gear in the game using macros-- there's not much more like a robot than that.

tbh i wouldn't want to sit there and manually craft tho. i talk/socialize while i craft so it's easy that i can just press one button then another. no screw ups because i got distracted and didn't remember where i was in the craft =p

Since it's 70 1* you need at least Lv 66/67 to make it.

EDIT: To answer the other parts of the question, yeah you can make a tonne from crafting, not nearly half as much as last expansion, but I'd say crafting is by far one of the best means of making gil.
