Given how awful the community feels towards healers sometimes, I wanted to share this story from last night.
Did Ala Mhigo in Expert roulette. I had a terrible night, and I sucked. Horribly. Caused a wipe on trash by throwing up DB too early, aggroing stuff before the tank had it, and getting flattened. Wiped a couple of times trying to do the giant pull with the dogs (I tend to think that's too big, but I can usually do it). Then somehow managed to die on the second boss, which has never happened before, but that didn't cause a wipe. I mean how does a HEALER even die on that guy?
So I apologized to people for all the mistakes. You know what they said? "It's cool, no worries, you'll get it."
That's it. We kept going, finished it, and that was it. I'm sure nobody was going to give me healer of the year after that, but nobody was kicking, yelling, insulting, or anything. It honestly felt pretty great to get some words of encouragement when I needed them.
They even gave me two pity commendations.
Amid all the doom and gloom, just remember that there's some pretty great folks also playing.![]()
