Exactly. You can play in windowed mode like it was fullscreen and alt+tab as much as u like ;P

Since SE is lazy and will never implement Alt+Tab, the solution to the problem is to run FFXIV through Steam. When you switch to the steam overlay, there is a web-browser available.

I know ffxi didn't support this and I know there are many things I can do to avoid this but I also would like to see Alt+Tab implemented. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal to put in place to me.

It's a core mechanic, it would require them to redo certain functions so the game can reallocate properly.

Yes I understand this. Still not a big deal to implement. They could even remove the border, title bar, etc... from the windowed setting. I know this isn't true full screen but it would look much better still.

Yes Please for ALT - TAB !! or as Critter said they can at least remove borders from windowed mode.

Dunno if it was mentioned yet but there is a program called Shiftwindow that can make the game exactly like windowed maximized. Set the game config to windowed and same resolution as your desk top and shiftwindow to force it full screen without borders. Alt tabbing will be a breeze. Its not like windower either, it works on almost all games. Once the window is full screen you can close Shiftwindow.
