Undercutting by 1 gil?

I mean....seriously? Is there a more annoying thing to do? It doesn't save the buyer any money, it's just some guy going "Give me your gil instead of this other guy". I've been seeing this trend all over the place lately. Does this even work? Seriously, people, you see this? Pick the next seller up on the list just to spite them.

I do this if I'm currently in the same area to avoid tax. Hells, I would even go for one that's a few thousand above the lowest price if I'm lazy enough.

Honestly undercutting by 1 gil helps to prevent the prices on items fluctuating too much. Unlike those people who will undercut by 100k+ gil and drive the market prices into the dirt. Too many people actually undercut by outrageous amounts and makes selling certain items unbearable. While I could understand being annoyed that a whole bunch of people undercut by 1 gil to put their name higher on the list ((which does work because a lot don't look they just click on the first name)), in the long run it means you aren't losing out on a whole lot of gil just to get your name back to the top of the list.

Then -1g them back. This stuff isn't worth getting wound up over as I've pretty much gotten into making gil immediately after I gotten over this "how dare they?" phase with competition. I'll also do -1g unless I see the item as stagnant and I want people to care about buying it from the MB.

Yeah this annoys me no end as well. When people undercut to the point where an item is valueless (i.e. 1 gil item lol), they're only hurting themselves in the long run. Sometimes mats cost more than the finished item Oo

There are those rare occasions though where tanking prices is a necessity. In particular, I'm referring to material costs of certain frequently consumed high demand goods, like low level mats. 8-10K for one Effervescent Water tends to not sell well at all...
