Free/Entry level and Standard Subscriptions through Steam

Hi,
I recently had an entry level account which I had not registered with a CD key. I was having problems with the game connecting to the data centre and thought that this was the reason (which it turns out was not) and then my account was upgraded to a Standard Steam account when I had entered the CD key I was given on the Mog Station.

From what I have gathered my entry level account would have allowed me to play for free upto Level 35 but now that I have upgraded I will be using up my 30 days of credit which I got included with the game from Steam. I dont think I really needed to insert the CD key and told this to Square Enix support but they were not willing to return my account back. I was wondering what will happen after this 30 days is over? Will I be unable to play for free now with this account as it seems I will still have to re subscribe?

After a trial account has been upgraded to a regular one you have to pay a sub fee every thirty days, so yes after the 30 days that comes with the purchase of ARR you will have to subscribe to keep playing. That said trial accounts have a number of restrictions on them beyond just the level 35 cap such as the gil cap, market board lock out, and inability to use /shout, /tell, /yell, in game mail or retainers.
