Help for a level 40 THM please.

If I have posted this thread in the wrong place, I apologize.

I am looking for a good place for a level 40 THM to grind. I have tried asking other players in-game for information, but the few places they pointed out have monsters that are currently too strong for me. (Level 44 to 46.) Later they told me they grinded there before the latest patch, so I assume the information they've given me is outdated. If anyone here can give me updated information on where a level 40 THM can grind, I will much appreciate it.

For Soloing, Level 40 company leve XP is damn amazing. If you are out of leves or don't want to use them for whatever reason, you can try out a few camps with 40-42 enemies... off the top of my head:

Raptors NW from Iron Lake (make sure to head to this one because the other Raptor camps are, i believe, 43-47)

Antlings South of Halatali

Lalafell Assassins SW of Halatali inside the caves

Boars NE of Treespeak (They are in a little nook on the side of a larger round area near the Aetherial Node. They might also be difficult because they are lightning-based and probably resist lightning, but using Stone does a ton of damage)


Raptors and Boars are actually fairly nice gil since you can sell any hides you get from them in the Wards. I believe there are also some ~L40 Karakul sheep in Coerthas you can solo and farm for fleece to sell but I haven't checked them out yet.

Yes the Grand Company leves. The "kill X amount of enemies within 15 minutes" ones pretty much make you an instanced XP camp and with Guardian favor I was getting 500-1k per kill with chains on my 40 Pugilist. They also give you Company Seals which are becoming more and more valuable/useful. The other types of Company leves are good XP too but they aren't as good as that one, if you haven't ranked up to the current top rank you will have a 50/50 chance of getting the kill leves or the defense ones. I personally don't mind the defense ones but your mileage may vary.

If you need gil, though, You should probably stick with regular leves instead of the Company ones, although you could always just farm and your company leves might have enemies that drop valuable items.

Get an eight-man party, go to Natalan, kill bird men. That's how I went from THM 40 to THM 50, and it was quick.

if you picked flames for gc then do gc leves. there are a couple that you can turn the stars up kinds high and just kill bombs with fire. I do this on pug with fist of fire and the damage on them is crazy high. or just join a party. im sure the party leader will have a spot in mind.

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I haven't replied sooner. Thank you all very much for the information you've given me. I am currently in La Noscea doing levequests for both the Adventurer's Guild and the Maelstrom. I'm also comparing the EXP gained from leves of both guilds.

I haven't come to a conclusion yet, but it seem you gain more EXP from Adventurer's Guild leves. At the end of most Adventurer's Guild leves I've done I gain between 4,000 to 5,000 EXP, while at the end of most Maelstrom leves I've done I gain between 3,000 to 4,000. However, the EXP you gain from killing Maelstrom leve related monsters is more than what you gain from Adventurer's Guild leve related ones, so they may actually be even when it comes to EXP.

Depending on how many leves you're willing to burn, you might just want to take GC leves and immediately abandon them until you find a "kill as many as you can" one. Burning favor on those is pretty good solo exp, as others in the thread have said (Although based on your level as of last post, you might have already found a Natalan party and be level 50)

I am going to post you a group of links to mooglebox, as I have found there "Mob Location Tool" to be the most usefull general grind and mob farm tool out there.

you can sort it by region and/or level range. Click the mob and get detailed map coordinates as well as specific levels and specific amounts of that particular mob.

Nope, I'm currently level 46. I'm going to be level 47 very soon though.
