if its not too much to ask square can you please add a confirmation option to the sort inventory button? iam so tired of accidentally hitting sort and having my entire inventory messed up only to spend the next 10+ minutes trying to reorganize it as someone who suffers from mild OCD i have to have my inventory in a certain order or it drives me crazy

can you please add a confirmation option to sort so we can decline when we accidentally hit it and accept when we hit it on purpose??

If you are one of these people who don't want to automatically sort their inventory, you can simply remove the menu entry and then make a few /isort macros for when you need it.
Or you can put the [Sort] menu entry into the "Second Tier" submenu if you feel like it's overkill to do macro shenanigans. Putting it in its own submenu is probably misclick-proof enough.

Character config > Item Settings > Subcommand customization [Open] button.
It's a very powerful menu customisation tool that you don't see in a lot of MMOs. Yet a lot of player ignore it or don't even know it exists.

At the very least move it from under the discard command which many use all the time. It's simply too easy to sort by mistake and interestingly enough you have a confirmation command for discard but not for sort. Sorry but it needs one too and I complete agree with you.

Accidental sorting is reversible, and for an unlimited amount of time to boot. Discarding is not. You never lose anything by sorting (except time if you feel pressured to sort it your way), but you may lose a lot of hard work if you discard something accidentally.

It's like with using items. You don't get confirmation even though you may accidentally use something rare that you wouldn't want to. But having to confirm the use of an item would actually interfere with gameplay.

I am most certainly fine with there being an OPTION to turn confirmations on or off as one sees fit. In most games, it's possible to turn confirmations on and off on selling items depending on grade too, so such quality of life options are used and, and frequently to boot. But I abhor having to use confirmation for most things. I abhor the fact that I have to hit confirm to open darn door in a dungeon, which I cannot possibly try and open by accident with my setup...(If there is an option to turn off the confirm window for using interactive objects out there and I missed it somehow when looking through all the menus...please tell me.).

4 or 5 clicks is not "hidden away" and fixes your problem without adding more confirmations for those who don't want them.

As someone who constantly uses the sort feature to sort my inventory, I do not want a confirmation menu forced on me. If it is something that you can set optionally in your character config though, I am all for more options. I know plenty of people who absolutely hate accidentally sorting their inventory.

I echo this. While I can certainly understand why accidently sorting would drive someone batty, I would go equally batty having to click a confirmation every time I want to auto sort. I can definitely see an option to do so would be quite helpful.
