What do you think they could implement or change to make FFXIV more fun?

By making it FFXI-2... oh wait, that would be the opposite of fun.

They're making so many changes that I can't honestly sit here and tell you that any suggestions I make haven't already been planned. For starters, though, I would bring back the conquest system from FFXI. I rather enjoyed that system. I'll post more as I think of them.

Ya there is a few months already i'm waiting for the fun part...because this is the main aspect a game must have and it's exactly what the changes kept removing from this game.

IMO fun = long-term achievements. Stuff that offers you a goal to reach that can get closer day after day. Stuff with good replay factor (good replay factor...the ones ppl do because they like, not because the drop rate sucks) also count here.

They could start with a change in the primal loot system

Then they could make the materia system different so it would be more about work than pure luck.

With these two things my fun would greatly increase !

I think the coming hamlet defense has vast potential for different kinds of fun. I hope they hit a home run with the implementation.

I've been asking this for months already...making the meld success rate proportional to spiritbond (also the time required after every melding increasing in like 3x so no one can have 5 materias in a gear before at least a month of effort), crafted gear losing their secondary effects (since you WILL be able to meld up to 5 materias in every gear over time), materias having their effect lessened and, instead, having combo effects...like, as example, you adding a STR materia and an attack power materia generating double attack effect. Comboing materias would not only make every single materia useful (even those resistance ones) due combo effects but also offer a brand new variety of "rare effects" that cannot be obtained by a single materia, preventing the same materia stacking.

Hope so...if they can make it just half as good as FFXI's campaign, it already will be the best feature of this game.

Yeah. What's so fun about a sense of acomplishment, compelling storylines, terain variety, abundant and varied sidequests that take more than an hour to speed through, and forming a strong sense of comunity by having to work together to reach end game?

There was no "sense of accompliment" in endless amounts of time sinks designed to get you playing longer with as little rewards as possible (but judging from most XI players' comments, they are masochists). And compelling story? Maybe when compared to your average Asian MMO, but that's not saying much. One last thing: the community sucked. Elitists ruined what decent community it could have had.

We must have had different experiences.
