Looking for a good, but also creative challenge.

Given the spare leisure time on my hands, and partial boredom of how difficult--easy crafting currently is I've decided to take up another alt for crafting and other purposes.

Since I want something unique on this one to make stuff a little diverse so I've decided to take up a challenge.

Thus far, I'm constricting myself to levelling 2 classes to 50, and beyond; CUL/ALC. Also, I've decided that in levelling, I'm not allowed to touch others (unless specified), nor use leves to level said classes, and I'm not allowed to purchase gear from the market, nor craft myself some. Yea most will already know how this will be done. If anyone had alternative to this base start, feel free to suggest.

But to add some stuff onto that, what challenges would you recommend? I can already take for possible granted that crafting current recipes with no more than level 15 on other classes as one people would suggest

Oddly enough my FSH alt did CUL and ALC to 60 before leveling anything else. But she is legacy, 1.x, when having an alt made sense and elements counted for something. Did it mostly on GC turnins. Don't go that route.

Everything to 15 = do all the recipes once, doable with stuff the guild shop has. CUL needs fish that can be bought at the hayline (sp?) just off the aftcastle.

You will have a hard time outfitting yourself from the class quests. But how about once you get 50 do the artisan's set quests? From: https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Talan

The leveling log and the housing log sections both mark off when a recipe has been completed. The Master book sections do not.

There is an achievement line, I Made That _______! Achievements, that is based on the number of check marks you have in those two areas. Two of the achievements in that line award gear, too. One awards a level 50, i55 (?) ring, the other awards a level 60 MH tool. Personally, I expect that SB will eventually continue that line of achievements, giving some level 70 reward.

As for crafting everything once, the main issue is materials, not the recipes themselves. Some stuff may just be a royal PITA to get.

Not too sure if I 100% understand this. Are you saying you'll only be using items bought from NPCs? Because if so then GL on trying to beat the difficulty/exp walls for level 50-51 and 60-61. :P

Indeed I am, wouldn't be fun, nor time consuming otherwise. I'm more frightened for 50-51, but 60-61 will be really really easy
