Blizzard, Cure, Thunder, Thundara, Thunder, Fire, wait just a lil bit for MP, Thunder, Thundara...oh ****, my HATE is high, gotta stop a while (...)yes, they turned it into a magical burst machine that spends alot of time standing around doing absolutely nothing in longer fights. that is what makes it boring. it doesn't matter if they added more of the original dot's and lowered damage and mp costs some as long as you are not just standing and doing nothing. that is quite boring and not fun to play.
let me figure out this complex combo.....fire........fire.......fire




if you are using all 3 against the same mob you are absolute fail. for example you only have 3 elements total. only 2 of them can be used against ifrit and do any damage. go against the moogles and you will see against certain ones that base fire does more damage than thundaga does capping off a combo.

Stone and Aero are cross class, bro. 5 elements. Ifrit is weak to Wind, "neutral" to Thunder and Earth. Also,
that was jut an example of what's possible to do and still get reasonably good, constant damage without waiting all the time. Of course elemental resistances also come into play, it's as easy as focusing more on the better spells for said battle. Now, if someone wants to spam Thundaga / Firaga combos without even using Parsimony then complain, be my guest.
Wait wait wait. You just admitted you barely played thaumaturge for the last few MONTHS and still somehow believe your input about Thaumaturge MP management is valid and well informed?nope i haven't played thm since 1.18 for more than a few fights because i think it is boring and not fun at all anymore. i am primarily a main healer now, but no matter how "good" of a thm we get it is always wait for mp because they are out. then sometimes it takes forever for their mp to start to regen no matter how long they stand still.




how long do you actually think it takes someone to figure out how to use 15 total abilities? i played it enough to learn the class, but like i stated even the thm's that are brought into parties that are supposedly good do less damage than i did on mine. i guess my few times was enough to out parse the good thm's so it's enough knowledge. my few fights i am referring to are only a few times vs the primals.
i solo alot on thm to learn abilities and how to manage mp, but that doesn't change the fact it is boring in parties now.
all i am saying is that when the so called "good thm's" come into the party it costs the party dps because of the massive amount of time they are inactive. on average the thm's are parsing 8k or more less dps per fight. yes, that is comparing the top archer to the top thm, but that is the best way to guage. if you go by averages the differences are bigger most times.
inactivity = boring to me.

You are crazy, all I have to do is thunder and thundara mobs go down, no need for the other spells at all! Oh but on that one occasion do you need it ala IFRIT/MOOGLE. Soo you guys saying that ever other spell BEFORE were usless, well, bad argument is bad. The reason why they were useless, I'll say it again, mobs die WAY FAST, as in FFXI you had time to use those spells to help with the battle.
