    Magic

    I want magic to be learned(bought, guild marks, few rare quests). I don't want another FFXI but I do want the stuff that FFXI did right. If they made it where you had to buy your spells, they could add WEAPON SKILLS for mages. They would be silly ones that didn't do much of nothing

    There's a thread that was just made, talking about blue mage, blue mage wouldn't work. If blue mage worked as in XI they would have 100xs more magic than THM or CNJ. There really needs to be a lot more magic, that is why I'm asking for us to buy the spells in one form or another. Just to give you an idea, at level 50 whm had about 68 spells + the sub job spells. CNJ right now only has 10 + few THM spells. On top of that they had weapon skills.

    If you had to go out and do quests for your spells or buy em, that would be added content that you have to do. That's what we want right, content? The reason why I bring this up,I was leveling thm and felt it was REALLY lacking on spells, it was super fun to do big dmg, but I was just casting thunder and sometimes fire if there was a big group of mobs. IDK give your thoughts and opinions and hate ^.^

    i hate to say it, but not gonna happen

    at this time i dont see them changing that aspect of the game because it is overly drastic

    HOWEVER, when it comes to spells and abilities earned through jobs....you may have to quest for them like was told in the planning for it

    But, did you use all of them?
    I remember not using 1/2 off the debuffs I bought because by the time I actually got them to work, I could have already killed the mob.

    BUT, maybe they can add quests later than can grant JOBS new spells/abilites.

    Please tell me what spells you never used in FFXI as a whm? at level 50

    Also that is how they are going to do job abilities as well is through quests, which is cool

    i miss the old days where you could get certain spells or abilities from fighting mobs. you fight a mob and you can only get their special spell from them casting it on you. the way vii did materia was by far the best way i have dealt with magic in any rpg/mmo. too bad the materia system in place now is a bastardization of what materia was to the final fantasy series.

    they are taking spells down to the bare minimum though because they have to make it simple enough for the lowest common denominator to be able to do it.

    The reason why you wouldn't have a use for half the spells in this game, things die WAAAY too fast.

    Most Bar- spells, Aquaveil, most -na spells, etc etc.

    It wasn't really that these spells werent usefull, it was that you could kill (Most) mobs w/o using them just fine.
    (*Ofc NMs and Bosses would be a bit different but, I mean for grinding purposes*)

    I saw many whms cast bar spells on normal fights, tons of em used Aquaveil as well >.>; If we were fighting a certain type of mob they would cast that bar on us, made the fights easier. There was a purpose for each spell in FFXI, also good whms used na spells all the time.
