xbox 360 controller suddenly unrecognized until I reset computer.

Here's my problem: when I'm playing FF14 a realm reborn (pc standard version), in random times my original xbox 360 controller gets disconnected, the game stops to recognize it even if I try to unplug and plug it a hundred times. Then I restart my computer and the game starts recognizing it again. I know this is a solution, but I don't want to have to stop my game, restart my computer and start the game again just to fix it every time. This has happened to me 3 times already(although not in the same day, by the way). Can someone help me with this issue?

I know i have to have my controller (wireless with usb receiver) up and running before i open any games, else its not recognized by them. Never had to reboot my whole system though. Sounds like it may be a wire/battery issue.

Is there some sort of program or process on the computer that recognizes this controller? You could try resetting that.

Updating your motherboard chipset driver may work as it may contain a newer version of the USB controller driver which fixed this issue awhile back for me.
