This is exactly what the offender in the OP should read and bear in mind as well. It isn't only him, his resourcefulness and experience playing the game either.I'm sorry but i have to disagree, Do you remember you are playing with the other 7 people? does taking at your own pace means you have to keep sucking when you can clearly improves better but choose not to? You taking at your own pace is a hindrance for another 7 people you play with.
You know what happened when you are a hindrance? nobody invites you to stuff and then you will ends up whining that this game doesn't have anyone to do stuff with.
This isn't offline game and shouldn't be treated as one, you are playing with another person, and you should take that into your consideration. Feel free to find the people that have the same way of playing as you, but you have no right to whines when you can't find the exact same people that approves the way you take this game.
Oh god.... The irony in this statement.... coming from this person.... is sweet justice for 2012. My year is complete. Can I have 2013 now?

O-k Mamba. Just a fair warning though, I am veeery casual lol. TBH, I don't pay attention to levels much. I mainly just like to spend time with friends, exploring and having fun. In a way I purposely want to go slow bcause I would like to experience the game brand new when 2.0 is released. Do you think that is a good startegy? Mostly, I am doing crafting and gathering and from time to time level a few DoM or DoW classes to 10 and then 20 and so on. I know what you are thinking, this girl is craazyy!! Well, that's what everybody else says lol. Anyways, even if you are way higher level, we can still explore and gather or craft, and even "gasp" fight every once in a while ... or whatever lol. It's all about having fun doing whatever. Anyways, ttyl. Have fun!![]()
Oh, is that when someone else was supposed to be tanking? Besides, that shit is soooo old. Like, back when Raging Strike > Provoke.
Are we going to also remember that I first brought up strats for killing Dodore, Incapping Haughtpox and to some degree, Mosshorn? (And I'll go ahead and mention that I did use Obsess on Dodore once, for good reason) :P

Yeah, cause you need to use 15 abilities before you WS as a DD. So good! I'm happy you put up foresight before you use a ws, like you wanted to tank. I thoroughly enjoyed your excuses for killing mages. The popcorn-ability of it was perfectness embodied.Oh, is that when someone else was supposed to be tanking? Besides, that shit is soooo old. A thread with a bad player (from lack of playing because of RL schedule) being lectured from a bad player who is just bad with posts of encouragement from another bad player, is by far the best thread ever.
P.S. I have never fought either of those monsters with you. You left from paranoid delusions before then. Anyway, I was too busy trio/duoing Dodore, so what strategy did you give me there exactly?. Incapping Haughtpox does nothing. Uh, everyone already knew to get horns from a goat, you have to incap the head. Why are you attempting to take credit for something you had nothing to do with? That group never would have killed Dodore without me, Ham, Maya, and Beeps. umad?
Baddies will be bad.

I like where this is going.
Put up Foresight? If I wanted to tank, I'd use a hate-generating ability like uhh, Taunt? It's funny that you blame me for being a PGL and doing what I'm supposed to be doing. Can't really blame me for bad tanks and/or broken battle mechanics. However, I can blame you for not having Stoneskin up and/or getting your ass outta the way.Yeah, cause you need to use 15 abilities before you WS as a DD. So good! It's all rights to disagree. Tis' only my opinion on the subject matter. Can't expect everyone to be a constructive person, so the one way to deal with ass(es) is to take their flaming douchebaggery as a motivation to be better than them.

Even in MMO land, I don't expect anyone to be this veteran that knows how to tank, crowd control, or heal. Or to know most of the terminology. To delve through guides and forums on how to play their class(es), watch a video of an encounter using classes they don't play, or to even keep abreast with patch notes, dev responses, and translations. I do have my expectations of a player, these aren't them.
People that want to win, fast, efficiently, be first, and optimize will find like-minded individuals and stick with 'em. People that take it at their own pace, will similarly find folks in these situations.
Someone who is willing to grow, to adapt, they're trying to get better. They may not pull out all the stops to be the best, but they're giving it an effort to improve.
If seven people used to winning decide to recruit a straggler and lose, they have the option of bringing the straggler up to speed so that they can all win, like true sports. Or they can be poor sports and terminate the straggler after a failed run or two. In the latter case, this sounds like one type of elitist that the OP is talking about.
It's one thing to take the game seriously some of the time, put your game face on, do what it takes to win (videos, guides, leveling up classes to be like the videos to avoid reinventing success), and succeed (thus proceeding to use a subligar like a towel and slap that fabulous roegadyn in the locker room, whoo hoo!!!). Taking the game seriously all the time, that would hinder even my fun. Like riding a chocobo with a small limp beak. Although the size of their beak shouldn't affect their performance as a chocobo, I sometimes question it.
