    "Bad Player" ==> SE

    SE is the 'bad player' here
    They made it hard and will make it harder later on

    SE definition of 'challenge' is to make the fight win'able by a group of people who are very skilled and their re-action score is 0.2 or less

    Other game developers define the 'challenge' by simple word 'tactic' find it and it is easy win

    To be honest, I don't blame a party that kick someone or ignore him and never invite him... this party want the win > friendly

    if you want to blame, it is SE to make is like this ^-^/

    oh, the hardcore who want it this way so only THEM win /Enrage

    Hey, no offense ^-^

    @topic:

    I would only consider someone a "bad player" if he not only did not know basic game mechanics, but also did not try to learn them or improve himself, and ignores any good criticism, opnion or tip someone shares with him. Someone who's genuinely trying to learn and know how to make good use of other player's hints'n tips is a good player in a my book, as far as "skill" goes.

    Using Ifrit battle as an example, I'm not talking about the guy who might be wanting to try out a "bad" setup, or that dies at every eruption because he's having a hard time evading it. I'm talking about the guy that keeps using Firaga and ignoring when someone points out he's doing nothing but heal the beast.

    No offense but, once figured, all of the current endgame fights are relatively simple and can be easily done even with random people you never met, provided they know what they are doing. Yes, the battles are not exactly "easy" and require a major initial effort to discover their quirks (Plume zones, ghost moves, moogle kill order, etc), devise good tactics around those quirks and perfect em, but after you do that it's a matter knowing basic game mechanics. Unless you want to be server first, they're hardly "hardcore only".

    No offense but I'm pretty sure both hardcore and casual players alike asked for difficult content. Nothing about FFXIV is hardcore at all. SE is not to blame here, because quite honestly there is absolutely nothing in this game that should cause anyone to act like an elitist snob.

    As AdvancedWind pointed out, hard content is only hard until a strategy is formed. The OP, who is a casual player, did NOT want to follow someone else's strategy because she obviously welcomed the challenge and wanted to form her own.

    The only person to blame here is the douchebag who thought he's god's gift to FFXIV players, that's all there is to it.
