It's mostly speculation. With that said...there isn't really anything 'bigger' than Ex-Death and Neo Ex-Death that they can draw specifically from FFV. Sure, they could throw in other bosses from the game but they'd be pretty underwhelming by comparison. Given that the Ivalice raid is going to draw from more than just one of the Ivalice titles I think it's a fair bet that the Omega raid will do the same. It's also a pretty plausible way to introduce fan favourites such as Kefka, Sephiroth or Ultimecia in a way that would make sense. It also allows for a similarly flashy transition phase in the final fight for OS8 and OS12 if they want to match or top OS4.

Whether we actually fight Omega itself remains to be seen, I suppose. It's possible if we pass its tests it may simply deactivate of its own free will.

I know this would never happen because I think the rights are unavailable, but I'd love to see Omega conjure up the Son of Sun.

Imagine the boss mechanics.

(Yes, I know it's trivialized to the point of being impossible to lose if you get the right equipment. The question is how that would get solved in a MMO setting.)

I kinda want 5-8 to be Final Fantasy 10 based, with the Oblitzerator (boss from Luca) to be the first, the second either being Seymour and/or Anima from the Macalania Temple encounter or Evrae just before the Invasion on Bevelle, the third being Yunalesca at Zanerkand and finally the final boss being Seymour with Savage having his Omnius form or Jecht and his Final Aeon form.

Since Omega is a machine from another world, I could see it creating another being which could be similar to it, something it may even have encountered in the FFXIV world.

The FF8 summon, Eden.
In fact one of the wins can be FF8 based:

2. Doomtrain
3. Griever
4. Eden
