    Sound Issues: No in game sound at all

    Greetings,

    I just came back to Final Fantasy because I was thrilled to hear FFXIV can now be played on my Mac. I purchased the $19.99 starter version and am currently in my 30 day trial period. I have a:

    * MacBook Pro (15-inch 2016)
    * 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
    * 16 GB Ram
    * Radeon Pro 460 2096 MB, Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB
    * Running MacOS Sierra, v. 10.12.6
    * Sound running through Focusrite Liquid 56 Interface

    1. I entered the home dashboard and logged in with my account information and one time password with no problems. It took me to the start screen where I can configure, start a game or create a character.

    2. I clicked start and it played the starter movie with no sound. Which I thought was odd. I then created a character and there was no background music or sound so I could not hear what my avatar would sound like when it came to those options in the character creation. It then took be into the game and I still had no sound.

    3. To troubleshoot, I quit the game completely, and checked my audio. I could hear playback from YouTube, my iTunes library, Spotify and World of Warcraft. So I went back into the game, still no sound.

    4. I checked the settings and nothing seems to be muted, unless I'm missing something.

    This is really disappointing. I'm a huge fan of the series and I feel like I've been let down with something so simple as sound.

    I welcome any suggestions or directions to improve my situation.

    EDIT 9/16/17
    I decided to unplug all my cables, connections to my audio interface and just use the laptop, not attached to a display or anything. The sound now works. I find this perplexing. I have no sound issues with WOW, or any other games. As someone who works in software tech, and has led many teams on quality assurance, it baffles me that a company as old and familiar with bringing accurate, stable content to their users would miss a step as simply as making sure their Mac software release could talk with all audio out sources. I'll still be working on this issue on my end. I find it very hard to believe that simply connecting my laptop to a thunderbolt 1/2 apple display where its hub is used for my audio interface simply baffles this gaming software to render its user a half ass experience. When quite frankly, the sounds and music are what helps folks like me get amerced in the game. If any one has any ideas at all about how I can fix this issue so I can enjoy this game on a 27 inch retina display, please let me know.
