If I don't like it on myself, I certainly don't want others to see it on me. And obviously I don't want to see on other MCH's. I think there is a need to be able to hide globally, especially since the way it's currently designed is simply not consistent with how the rest of the game works. There's no reason to be against this.

This is exactly what I hate about the /gaussbarrel thing it only hides it for ourselves...this is an mmorpg

Why is mch the one not following the rules?
Gauss barrel adds nothing to mch and overheat already covers a "stronger shot"

The lunch box should change with the weapon, I mean Bards have had the quiver change with weapon since the beginning what did they get lazy or something.

SE please fire the MCH design lead and let the Bard design lead handle it. The current guy clearly hasn't been doing his job since the beginning.

I'm pretty sure BRD and MCH have the same designer, just because they were so close in HW(with MCH clearly being the focus and BRD being the afterthought), but class designers and artists are presumably separate, with those decisions being left to people above the grunts. Also, calling for someone to be fired because you don't like the aetheroconverter is petty as hell.

Are you concerned about what complete strangers you will likely never see again think of it? The people you see regularily on your server wont see the damn thing because if you hate it so much, you will likely not equip it outside of a dungeon, would you?

Hell there are whole communities around watching people stream this game. Some player have lots of people seeing GB ruin their glamour they worked so hard to cultivate.

So you want the SE designers FIRED over something as niche and mundane as someone else catching your gauss barrel in a screenshot. Youre either grasping straws here or youre being utterly ridiculous.

They can also make the graphic different, like to appear on top of the gun or something that goes with all types of guns. Removing it from the game is the easiest fix though. SE should do more the just /gaussbarell

You guys got your /gaussbarrel. So as far as I'm concerned, it's working as intented. What is it with everyone trying to remove/hide things from the game? You already got the ability to hide from your character and now wanna hide it from everyone else? I'm sorry, it doesn't work that way. Tank auras I understand, even tho I highly disagree with how many are very vocal about them being very "distracting." Gauss Barrel is so small that you'll barely notice it when the action is flying. Stop trying to dictate what you want to and don't want to see on my character just cuz you don't find something appealing...

Thing is, while it IS working as intended, it's a lazy fix.

Tell me, when a SMN uses an Egi glamour to turn Garuda into a Ruby Carbuncle, why is it that everyone can see that? When someone decides to hide their headpiece, why is it that everyone can't see it? And with that same logic in mind, when I choose to hide my Gauss Barrel, why is it that everyone else can STILL see it? That's where the issue is. There are already systems in place to have something not show globally, and yet GB is the one exception to the rule, and not in a good way.

I'd also like to remind that the reason /gaussbarrel off is even a thing is because MCH players largely don't like it. . .

Right now I'm fine with the "client" side temp we have for Gauss Barrel, that said I can see the reason to change that from "Client" side only to an actual glamour/gear state setting.

Personally I see SE's only worry being "But ppl with a MCH bellow lv64 can't tell if their using it then!", my answer is "If u'r that worried then put the buff in the Party menu" MCH has Hot shot as (I think) its only displayed personal-buff/debuff in the Party menu, Job skills aside, which has to be reaplyed every 1min... which to be fair is hilariously easy to do, as it lines up with Wildfire now. I get their "reason" to not want unnessesary clutter in the Party menu but they gave us Job Gauges, which depending on were u put it can be annoying to micro-manage.
