How to improve as DRK?

Firstly I'm in plat tier, have been playing drk since the start of the season. I can't seem to carry my team as drk, often getting silver tier DPS/healers.
My play style is to stick on the mDPS until the burst countdown where I switch to the healer or dps(depending on the opponent's healer) to help burst or CC the healer.
I keep losing recently because I can't seem to carry my team as it is.
Tips on improvement? Hopefully a diamond and over drk player can give me some tips. That would be great! Thanks in advance!

Everyone has their own play style but typically all I use is the souleater combo.

I'll start on the melee to build up gauge and give my team time to build their burst, then I'll switch to healer and stun/silence stagger them.

I always throw out blackest night whenever I can on my dps/healer so I always have silence ready.

Everything really depends on the flow of battle. Typically i stay on the healer and force them to heal themself. Other times I'm stunning the dps to give my guys a break.

I use unmend to pull the healer behind a wall or to pull a dps off my guys when needed.

I'm also a little unethical with my traits and use tp/mp recovery and skill speed, and for abilities I use purify and sprint.

As a DRK in PVP, I get a special sense of glee watching that melee LB tickle the target after covering them with TBN
