PLD is the easiest, but WAR's overpower will help teaching you monsters placement and orientation. A little error I often see with beginners PLD/DRK is that they stay right into the middle of the pack and flash/unleash... while getting hit from behind.

Block and parry happens 360° now so except for aoe convenience, it changes nothing
Gladiator, at 30 Paladin. Make sure you do the tutorial, learn your actions, rotations, and always be well geared.
You still have to position things well for melee aoe usage as well as the plentiful number of trash mobs that throw out cone aoes as well. It does matter how you position, WAR's overpower will get you in a good habit.

Well then, having all the monsters in front of you will make it more look like you're in control... rather than being surrounded and looking like someone who's getting ganked...
