But just incase anyone comes across this thread in the future and cant figure out how a BLM is supposed to survive this massive combat instance, here are a couple ideas to work with. Some spoilers ahead, oviously.

So in the first phase of the instance(running across the field), try not to get engaged with too many enemies at once. You want to mostly fight 1 on 1 so that as soon as your teammate says "ive got this, go on ahead" you can finish whats on you and charge forward. I dont think you can fail the instance in this phase(aside from timing out if you take forever), but its best to save time for later. Resource management not an issue here.

In the second phase(sparring at the circle before your "rivals" show up), make sure you defend the center if any of the NPCs go for it(any hit will do, even a quick scathe). You may end up with a few more 2+ on 1 scenarios here, so keep your head up and know your surroundings. Your goal isnt to clear the area(its impossible anyway, the more enemies you kill the more enemies keep showing up), just to bide some time. Personally, i did more single target spells here(fire 4!) then AoEs so that i wouldnt have too many of them hitting me at once. You can continue that all the way through the fight, focusing on downing enemy after enemy one by one. Eventually one of your friends will tell you to take the center to progress the fight to phase 3, but you dont have to wait - if you see a good opening early go for it.

Phase 3 always starts with you being yanked off the circle by the sun guy. He will interrupt any attempts you make while he is alive. Additionally, the deathless woman will show up shortly after and just start to cause chaos. You still need to defend the circle if anyone goes for it(dont count on the NPCs to do it for you). Start by focusing your attacks on the sun guy until the deathless woman pulls out her big summoning. Once the summon appears it is priority #1 and must be dealt with ASAP. When the summon is gone finish her or him, then whoever is left. With no more rivals to stop you, the center is yours.

Phase 4 is an interruption by a familiar outsider. Youve won the tournament, now drive the late arrivals off the sacred land. Im not sure if the fight can be failed at this point, but dont take any chances. Continue dodging AoEs and just let that guy have it. And voila, the Mol rule the tribes until the next contest and Hien's plan was a success.

Are you still having a hard time? You can get the echo in this instance if you survive long enough into an attempt. Otherwise, look at your gear. You just completed a dungeon and got at least 1 drop you can use(should be using). If needed take advantage of the leveling dungeon having a guaranteed drop(plus whatever random ones) and get a couple more upgrades. The left side gear will help more then the right side, but its all important. And especially make sure your weapon at this point is at least ilvl 270 if not higher. You probably already know this, but your weapon is by far the most important piece of gear for determining how hard your spells hit - so keep it up to date! And while this is an odd question to ask someone attempting an instance so deep into the game, how well do you know your DPS rotation? You dont need to play perfectly to win(far from it), but if you have the "feel" of the BLM rotation down its much easier to execute - especially in an instance like this where the situation keeps changing every few minutes. If need be look for a good training dummy(SSS perhaps?) that you can practice on for a few minutes at a time and work out any kinks you have in your rotation. It should be fairly smooth if you can help it, and a BLM should be casting something pretty much always when not forced to move(and even then when you can help it via triple/swift/procs).
