An unexpected error has occured. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.(17)

I first encountered the error yesterday when trying to load Frontlines matches. I'd crash on the loading screen. Kept crashing until I waited about half an hour and was able to log back into Idyllshire, avoiding PvP since then.

Today I hit this crash again after a Void Ark run:



The game crashes after a few seconds of logging in, I can't open up dialogue or any windows; I can hear the sound of them opening but they don't appear.

This ONLY happens on this character; I've tried logging in to other characters and everything is fine.

I'm using Windows 10 x64bit.

This happens on DX11 and DX9, I normally run it on DX11.

I do not use any mods or reshaders or anything like that, it's a completely unmodified game.

I've restarted my laptop, made sure all drivers are up to date, and run Malwarebytes with no issues found.

I own the non-steam version of the game so it's not a steam-related issue.
I've also made sure to kill any programs with an in-game overlay feature, the problem persists.

The weird thing is that after the game "crashes", I can still move the camera around with the mouse (even though everything is frozen in place) and I can still hear the sounds of menus when I press hotkeys.

Any tips would be much appreciated!
