I don't think it's ever worked on self heals? If that's what you mean. I dunno, I don't play warrior but I'm pretty sure the effect is specifically for incoming heals.
Also umm.. More HP is still good for certain things. I don't think I'd ever call defiance useless when you usually have to two stack medals as a tank.
i find it sometimes nor ever too late.
Having that increased HP is tremendously useful. Incoming heals being boosted as well so the healer can do more. This helps you survive when you have 2 stacks or more. It is very much useful.
Part of me feels like stances don't need to exist and the tanks should just have that extra survivability all the time without the dps penalty. Am I making it too easy? When you take the stance away, replace it with an extra oGCD attack to all the tanks to make the offence more interesting.

Increases own HP recovery via healing magic by 25% ... o $hit then i thought that was a self regen thing.
Then its horrible then , it only gimps you when up compare to paladin for instance that has a 25% reduced damage for every hit from every one hitting them every time , defiance is nothing. 25% more hp in general is like 2 insta boils or a black mage spell , thats all it is and you permanent lose 25% dps making you a non threat since you hit like a noodle.

Like it was back in HW? only reason to use Defiance back then was if you got focused or if you needed self-healing via Equilibrium, main mitigation came from normal cooldowns that had no penalties.
