Honestly the fact that ARR was made off the broken husk of 1.0 is really all you need to know in regards to why they're constantly shooting down suggestions. 1.0 was for lack of a better phrase, strung together with bits of gum and string, and barely functional by most MMO standards. The coding was shit, the methodologies absolutely nonsensical if you care to ask someone versed in programming, and overall it showed that SE really had no idea what they were doing in spite of having a previous MMO under their belt to learn from. People are not kidding when they say that in order to fix all these issues they would literally have to create an entirely new engine and start from scratch, and frankly it might very well eventually come to that as more and more limitations are pushed against with each new expansion. Yet I'd be amazed if it was ever implemented before the eleventh hour, as Japanese businesses are /not/ known for overhauls when what is currently being used has /some/ functionality. And I don't think it's necessarily fair to lambaste Yoshi P for that either, as ultimately the ones who hold the funding for a new engine are the board of directors at SE itself.

It's a very funny coincidence that this thread comes off when I read a thread on NeoGAF about how a lot of lead game dev positions are left unfilled for 6mo+. Most game devs leave the industry, go to indie, or go to a position where the culture isn't spirit-breaking.
The only thing I will agree with on this post is the lack of communication when balancing jobs and the actual balancing of the jobs I always see some really great fixes from people in this community on the forums (minus the nerf ppl most of them just like crying) but when it comes to much needed changes there are crickets from the devs and I understand it takes time to develop classes and tweak skills for older classes but things are getting to a not so pretty place for some balancing issues
But this is a common issue with all MMOs! balancing the never ending battle lol
Have you thought about, if they say they can't, that they really just can't right now? Even if money was not a problem, they don't have endless forces of devs willing to work for entitled whiny children like the people complaining about a "we can't". Some things just require more work than it's worth. And sure they might be able to actually do the things you want them to but it would either take really long or hinder the rest of the development. So even if it's not "we can't do that at all", it is "we can't implement that anytime soon without having to cut back on other, more important things". And it definitely is not "we can't because we don't want to you specifically to enjoy the game".

Maybe key figures shouldn't globe trot around the world and do PR work at every game con that pops up. If staff is short why should staff with a certain skill set be used PRing when a pr company could do the same. Next again staff with a certain skill set separate from the dev team (claimed by the community) works on the cash shop. Shouldn't the main team be filled first? Better staff allocation and lets have this discussion again.

Adding a new race for example is a huge undertaking. Tons of story/lore stuff to worry about, you have to go over ALL gear and make sure it fits and works. Same with adding jobs. It cannot happen in a flash. Remember that MMO's have a 10 years support cycle. They need to make sure to add the stuff in a timely fashion while making sure it all works alright. Cross over events are a legal mess that require sometimes upto a year or so of preparation.
Glamour log is something they are looking at, something to change the glamour system. It feels like that Jhett_Magnum has not been staying up to date with any of these things. Everything he has mentioned has been given a reason many times.
Before Stormblood, PS3 was holding the game back. Nobody admits this now, but by the time this all over, someone is going to openly say "yeah we couldn't do X because of PS4".
Take a break if you are sick of waiting.

Are you really trying to imply a game company shouldn't show case one of their more recent games, that's current and popular, to not go to major gaming venues to promote their title? Or to not have at least a representative for the company?Maybe key figures shouldn't globe trot around the world and do PR work at every game con that pops up. If staff is short why should staff with a certain skill set be used PRing when a pr company could do the same. Next again staff with a certain skill set separate from the dev team (claimed by the community) works on the cash shop. Shouldn't the main team be filled first? Better staff allocation and lets have this discussion again.
Either or, more staff or not, it'd still take time. What you're suggesting is possibly hiring more people than SE is willing to pay. Or possibly slack on quality of employees, as well as a slew of other things that are not good for the long term and are extremely short-sighted decisions.

I am implying that other companies and games hire PR employees/companies and don't take key staff off to go to 6 conventions in less then a year. I also never said no one. I said skill set, meaning right people doing the right job.
I am also asking why if staff is an issue(are we changing that excuse) on the main game why are other possibly skilled staff working in the cash shop? If the SE said FFXIV is maxed staff then cash shop staff wouldn't be a question.
