They've already stated they want to and have started looking into overhauling the glamour system. We'll just have to wait and see what they come up with.

The sum of all hunt arguments over early pullers: http://goo.gl/IFT9IE
I agree it is frustrating. What is equally to me is I can't have one look for my SMN and another for me RDM. Both casters, but because the glamour is based on the gear/item and not the job if they share gear they gave to gave the same look. On top of that you can't just go buy another set because the gear is all unique meaning you can only have one of an item leading to gave on job a set behind or having to use crafted gear.

A fun idea is one I suggested before, put the most wanted class/job locked gear into gold saucer! Would really give life to gold saucer and all of a sudden more fun glamour options.

Lifting gender restrictions is a huge development investment compared to lifting class/level restrictions. Females have different body shapes than males, so any piece of male gear needs to be redesigned for female before the restriction can be lifted. Level/class, on the other hand, the gear is already designed; there's just some check in the code that's preventing us from using the glamour. Remove the check, and the restriction is lifted.
Adapting an outfit for another gender or race can take days of work. Removing the restrictions on class/level for every piece of gear in the game should take, oh, about a half hour.

Agreed, the whole "iconic" argument loses any form of isubsstance when you can play any role at anytime and have the armor from doing the quests and becoming the ultimate WHM, BLM. DRG. WAR and whatever you wanna do combo. Further any iconic feeling is lost purely on how the game just gives these "iconic" pieces away for nothing. I've personally never met anyone that felt super special wearing these pieces. Glamor restrictions just need to go away.Silly, all healer hoods have to have annoying red dangling gemstones between our eyes or glowing panels! Otherwise people might mistake us for assassins rather than healers.
100% agree, glamour restrictions are dumb and ruin fun. I've said it several times before but I support removing all class locks for glamour so long as you have earned the right to wear the item on another job; the whole point of the game is that we're one character with multiple jobs. It's nonsense in terms of lore, it adds nothing to gameplay now we can all be pigs, ghosts and bikini models as any job, and it's simply not fun.

That would take some development time because it's only been coded to appear on male models so far.
But yes, as for the topic, as long as the job specific AF gear is never made available to others, or special stuff like PVP gear that is made for a specific class only, I don't mind.

I agree wholeheartedly for unlocking glamour restrictions by class. It doesn't take long playing the game to realize blue icons are tanks, green are healers and red are DPS. So what if I want to sport a battlemage look with some plate, or put a flowy robe on my gladiator. Giving the players this kind of freedom helps them build a closer connection with their character, which in turn makes them want to continue subscribing and playing!

Tbf, those original models were in 1.0, where there was special, yet crappy, gear that didn't have a class restriction. A tank class had as much access to those cloth sets as a caster had to the plate sets. Now it's just called Dated gear

we cant, "Servers would 'splode."
Or so I'm told.
