Would Players Like Square Enix To Have Another New Hairstyle Contest?

I enjoyed the last contest where players designed additional hairstyles to be included in the game. I was wondering if we should ask Square Enix to have another contest.

Perhaps, for beards and mustaches, as well as new ways of wearing hair for our characters. What do you think?

I'd like it but the amount of salt on the forums was out of this world. Everyone seems convinced their opinion about aesthetics is the only correct one.

Only if the entries were forced to use a universal model-template for each gender. That way they would be chosen based on the actual looks of the hairstyle and not how the face/character was drawn kawaii uguu bishounen pretty-faced . Let's not kid ourselves, that had a lot to do with the winning entries. That and the weird voting system that probably gave an advantage to entries on the latter pages because you just know some people voted for/liked multiple entries without reading the criteria for which votes would actually be counted.

I love your suggestions. A universal model template is much needed for the hair and outfit contests.

Not unless they split the entries into the following four categories:

- Short hair for a male character
- Long hair for a male character
- Short hair for a female character
- Long hair for a female character

Whilst enforcing a rather strict rule in regards to aesthetics and allowing male entries to be masculine and female entries to be feminine. Otherwise we just end up with androgynous/feminine options upvoted across the board.

I want the contestants to be forced to show how it would look on every race.
That way I won't be disappointed when I realize how bad the hairstyle I voted for (if it even wins) looks on my character.

These were the two winners, both being very cheap in the Saucer.

A runner up style, the infamous giant pompador, was later added as well.

Frankly, I've abhorred the winning girl's style from day one since that obnoxious, lavender, leafy barette matches literally nothing in game, and the leaves are so large they have to remove them for any and all hats. The boy's is great and I'm forever salty it's genderlocked.


Really, the first contest was kinda a shitshow since, despite giving us a template, no one who used it as their sole means to show the style made it far. Thus the art contest accusations.

Also, the voting method was just utterly terrible. Only your last three likes counted, and list of styles was spread over many pages in a single thread, so keeping track of your personal votes, or even how well a style was doing overall, was impossible.


So, I agree with both fronts that we'd both need a FORCED template to use, AND a regular poll instead of spreading them over a giant thread.

But, I would actually like another contest of this kind.
