14 causing entire PC to lag?

Tried this on good ol' le reddit, didn't get any help

Since a few months ago, whenever I have 14 as my currently active window, it would lag out websites on Firefox like Twitch, Youtube, Imgur (any .gifs)

I've noticed now that this "lag" has increased, and is now affecting Discord and more.

Any help would be appreciated, if more information is needed I'll answer to the best of my ability

After a deal of trouble shooting and reinstalling the game, I discovered that one of the programs I use regularly had a background process that was eating a ton of CPU, despite not being open. Guess this is sort of a user error thing for not paying too much attention

The firefox thing however, still is an issue. Could be solved easily by switching to another browser, but I like this one's functionality too much

How do I delete a thread here? I feel like keeping this up is pointless now

A couple of things to consider;

When did this start? Normally if there was an update you can check your history and see if anything is different. When a whole PC lags normally happens do to back end and can try seeing your Task manager and see what is using up most of your resources. (hoping you don't have a bad sector on your HD or CPU issue )

Are you using a 64bit system or 32 bit system? depending on new updates it's recommended to be on a 64 bit system, if not you may need to lower some specs on the program.

I had a similar issue, make sure your on Direct X 12 and are using the most effective display option , I had issues with HDMI so switched to Display Port. Hope this tips help.
