I tried to log on today so I could play since I had some free time. Whenever I try, I play for about 2 minutes and the game crashes on me giving me some DirectX errors. I took a screenshot:

Sometimes when the game crashes, windows catches the error and the game simply closes out. Sometimes though, I get this message:

When the DX11 client crashes the first 3 ffxiv_dx11.exe lines are ALWAYS the same. After switching to DX9 client and getting the above error, I switched back to DX11 and have not attempted further reproduction on the other client.

What graphics card to a 1080ti, every other game works flawlessly so I don't think that is it. But just in case, what graphics card are you using?

Do you crash everywhere too or only in a certain place?

Crash everywhere, not tied to location or action it seems. Just started today, didn't have any issues yesterday or day before.

game runs perfectly like an hour ago, then suddenly ran into this error. Was trying to enter "fly free, my pretty" instanced fight.

I then log another toon, but met with same error when entering a cutscene.

Getting similar issues with mine happening almost the same. I even purchased a new SSD > installing Windows 10 on it > and installing FFXIV fresh. And still getting this error message. I'm using a NVIDIA GTX980 graphics card, from the original 960 about 10 months ago. And the crashes similar in both DX9 and DX11 are happening. I had tried shutting off almost everything from within settings on the NVIDIA GeForce Experience, as well as the Windows 10 settings and even the ingame graphics set up which reduced the amount of times it crashes. But it happens now and again once in awhile.

Last 5 times it happened:
-Crafting in Mist in front of Market Board
-Fate - Ixion 3min left on time
-Running in Limsa lominsa from teleport
-Level roulette on Tank in Tam Tara Normal mode
-Running Omega Turn 1 during Breath wing phase pre 75% hp.

Had this issue with my 980 last night and it was all heat related. One of my case fans stopped working and was enough to cause this game to crash repeatedly, even though GPU temp hadnt spiked above 65c, and cpu was hovering around 60c load, however, taking the side panel off the case fixed this issue nevertheless until i could get a replacement fan.
