Esuna on Ast should be yellow, esuna on Scholar should be green, and Esuna on WHM should be the classic blue.
I know it's kinda trivial, but I really miss my unique version of it. Esuna just feels weird as blue on an Astrologian.

Well I do miss each healer having it's own Esuna, I think there are more pressing matters at hand.
On the other hand I do dislike the fact that you have to use up a "Role action" slot to have esuna.
I don't think SCH needs even more green abilities, there comes a point when you can no longer actually identify any of the icons at a distance because the entire bar is a blur of yellowy-green nonsense.
I personally think Esuna should be a base healer skill though, so I wouldn't complain if they just rolled the Esuna changes back to how they used to be which would solve your issue. Though Protect is a bigger issue since that's actively broken the way it is, whereas Esuna is just clunky.
I don't dislike the role system, I actually love it. I just wish the other healers at least kept their old animations when esuna is added to them. I don't think it would be too hard to fix. The old animations are probably in SE's storage. They wouldn't need to make anything new at all.
I love the role system too but I just wish Esuna wasn't on there. They make Esuna optional but they also make fights where Esuna is needed or virtually required.
I don't mind if all healers get the same Esuna, as long as we don't have to choose Esuna as one of our five options.
I know you can equip spells on the go but it's inconvenient having to constantly change spells, especially when you register for roulettes and you don't know what you're gonna get. And it's not like randoms in duty finder like to wait for you to change your spells. You barely have enough time to cast protect before everyone runs off.
Yeah, you could ask your group to wait for you so you can quickly change spells, but it's irksome having to do this. People might not mind, but nobody really wants to have to wait for a healer. I don't either. I love speedruns.

Tanks are in a similar predicament given that some fights absolutely require Awareness. Though to be fair, that was before they revamped the system, too.
I agree with this. One of the biggest cons to the new system, imo, is that a lot of the distinguishness of the skills got lost. Even Protect doesn't really feel like Protect anymore, not even on CNJ/WHM. Reminds me of how absurd it seemed to me given that SCH have a class quest that's all about getting Leeches. That it was important to their lore and was a bonding experience with the faerie. No idea how that goes now, "cross over this skill that's not even native to you anymore so you can do this job quest." At the very least they can keep it different between healers.
Kinda have to agree with this. Although I can understand the potential necessity to merge the three debuff-removing spells, having all these same animations for some of the healing skills has made them feel like they've lost a portion of what made them feel unique within their role. Combine that with how forced the cross-role system has been on healers, and they've made healing far less appealing than it once was.

If they gave esuna a unique animation they'd have to give every healer they add from now on a unique animation, then you'd get tanks complaining they want shadowskins animation back so they'd need to make new rampart animations for every tank, then the role system just becomes a waste.

Actually, when you think about it, the role system is pointless. Still this insistence on trying to provide option, yet there are still things there you absolutely need from it, so it no longer becomes optional. Although there is a better means of option, people are still going to pick predominantly the same set with maybe one skill being different from the majority of players in that role.
What we see in this thread is a symptom of having such a pointless system. Then again, making the skill white instead of blue might help a little bit....
