What villain should represent 14? and why?



Personally I think Warror of Darkness is a good pick, because it literally represents our character from a different world. It should be an interesting dynamic between him and WoL. Although I'm torn because Zenos is decent villain, but it's more of Lyse's enemy than Y'shtola.

Personally, I would think one of the Ascians. The Warrior of Darkness feels like the opposite representation of our character, which would feel appropriate (to me) if our character was the protagonist in NT (not exactly feasible/practical), however the Ascians represent a primary threat and are sort of a direct opposition to Eorzea and Hydaelyn overall, which while our characters are technically from somewhere on Hydaelyn, we're still sort of the X-Factor where-as Y'shtola is one of Hydaelyn's "native" inhabitants.

Maybe 'Nael' van/Deus Darnus? Going by story, it is technically because of them that ARR is even a game :P

If 'EX' forms are still a thing, then Nael/Eula can take on their dragon form.

Sadly I don't hold much hope seeing an antagonist for FFXIV appearing in Dissidia NT as FFXI never had antagonists representing it in the previous two Dissidia games either, they only featured protagonist npcs on Cosmos's side (Shantotto and Prishe).

It also doesn't help that the Garlean legatee like Gaius all look too much like FFXII's Gabranth who is already in Dissidia, so I'm liable to say one of the Ascians - probably Lahabrea or Elidibus. I'd prefer Gaius though, given he was the closest to an 'antagonist' for both 1.0 and ARR (he even appeared on ARR's cover for the US version after all). But again I don't see it happening alas.

They plan on adding over 50 characters. I wouldn't lose hope considering how successful XIV is.

I feel like Nael Van Darnus is the most popular villain XIV has right now. I'd love to see him....her.... hmmmm Do we keep pretending it's Nael because everyone knows Eula as Nael or do we call Eula disguised as Nael, Eula /think

Gaius van Baelsar is the obvious choice imo.

I think Zenos would be a good fit for it, especially because his different swords would be perfect for a stance change EX skill.

I'm also kind of hoping they decide to include Yugiri down the line, since we don't have a dedicated ninja as a fighter yet, only characters with a few ninja skills (Bartz and Onion Knight).
