Own Equip Slots for Seasonal Equipment!

I would really love it if we could get a second equipment window where we could equip seasonal equipment, or any other equipment to be displayed over the equipment we wear for the benefit of its stats.

i'm a lil disappointed that we get such great headgears like the dragon kabutos etc. yet we never really get to wear them, expect for showing off in towns.
it would be great if we could get a 2nd equipment window to put stuff in that we don't want stats from, but rather just the style of it.

we're slowly moving towards 2.0, and stats & equipment will start to play a bigger role, leading in everyone starting to wear similar equipments to have the fullest benefits for their jobs/classes, that's why i really would love to have a possibility to change my style without actually changing my stats and skills in battle.

    PS.:

this way devs could also implement quests that reward special equipment, or let the GC's sell it for a set price, that you could wear for prestige etc.
just an idea that came across my mind

Yeah a fashion slot would be really cool.

I would definitely be on board with the new mannequin system the developers are putting in having an 'aesthetic mannequin' that overrides the gear models from the mannequin determining your stats.

A lot of MMORPGs have an aesthetic override, and do it successfully, and it would go a long way toward remedying the negative aspects of scaling back the Favoured Discipline system and removing the wide range of level variants in almost all of the gears (Actons seem to only be for low levels now, same for Dalmatica, for instance).

Just.. yeah, don't only do it for the event items (although obviously being able to wear them freely would be an enormous benefit). That'd just be spiteful. Otherwise though I'm very much on board with such a system, definitely!

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It's two different concepts here. One is about just dressing up your character to however you want it to look. (Like playing with a Sim avatar) The other is about keeping some sort of job theme with the equipment, but allowing characters to show individuality within the theme's limitations.

I think the aesthetics should be ideally the equipment itself. I imagine they would allow enough customization eventually where people wouldn't have to fuss over slapping on another apparel on top of your current apparel.

However, I would I really want to see people running around in battle with swimsuits on? Maybe... for lawls?

I guess another way to look at this is that event items would be casual outfits, and equipments would be formal outfits. You wouldn't want to mix the two up and show up at a traditional wedding ceremony wearing a graphic t-shirt and cargo shorts, nor would you really want to go to a regular (non-uniformed) school day/class in a full tuxedo.
