Just another thread asking for in-game parsing for ps4 users

Ehhh, this sounds like a bad idea. I think they should just allow parsers, period. And anyone who uses the parsing information to harass other players should get banned for the first offense. Permanently. Make the punishment so... well, punishing that the trolls will think twice before deciding to harass the heck outta someone for low DPS..

No, sadly is Much as I'm (obviously) voiced against parsers, more than likely nothing will be done to go either way with it. In the end its just a pointless drive, on both asking for it, and on my part. (Reports and whatnot.)

With the difference being, everyone else is discussing pros and cons on a forum and you're actively trying to get players, some who might not even be using parsers, banned.

I think a good meet in the middle (I'm anti-parser in general play) Would be to make it an option the party leader can select like they can for things like under sizing. When this is selected it lets the other 7 know and they have to click yes to it. Most here shot down NinjaTaru72 for lacking "knowledge" of where one would need a parser, Savage and end game stuff. This way it keeps it out of normal stuff and when they are being used everyone is in agreement, those who want it can use it and those that do not will not. However I don't see even this being used as it still puts people in a position that "forces" them into working with one, for those who try and pug such content you'll start seeing "Parser enabled, no accept = kick." So I feel SE's just going to keep the stance of "Don't get caught"

OP is asking for a way to gage his own progress / dps. That's not Savage stuff and I personally don't think its unreasonable to ask for. I was a PS4 player myself and not being able to have a meaningful gage of how I was doing while levelling was killing me. Majority of people don't download parsers in order to have some sort of tool against others. Most people just want to improve themselves.

Which is fine and I'm not against, however you've always got to look at what it could be used for, sometimes it's worth the negatives, for the moment on this one, SE thinks it's not and I can see why. However I've nothing against a personal Parser for just your own stats. There's no harm in checking your own performance and trying to improve using that data, but it's when others can use it negatively against others we start to have a bad time. I understand those on the cutting edge need such information and many who aren't there want it for good intentions, I also understand that there are those who want it for the opposite, SE can't please both which is why they seem to have gone for the "No, but be discreet and we'll leave it alone" approach. It sucks that those on PS4 have 0 access to this, but as SE dose not officially support their use, it's hardly on them for that one.

I know Dervy and known him for years, hes been helping the community a lot by spending his own time to find out what's best stats, openers for DRG etc. What you contribute with is report false info about players. You might as well report your best friend, gf, etc etc since they might use a parser when you least expect it.

I couldn't care less if you know him and he's "helping the community".

Honestly, I wouldn't be against banning them if they have YouTube videos or guides that have evidence of them using parsers.

Well you white knight that people do things againts the ToS, yet you are here spreading some great toxic attitude. I wouldn't mind if people who spread reports based on how they feel getting banned for spreading lies and trying to ban people just because you ''feel'' like it. You do excactly what ToS is telling you not to, fill in reports of other players because you ''feel'' like it. What about fixing that own attitude of yours before you talk about others ''breaking'' the rules.

Just because "he helps the community and spends. Alot of his time" doesn't mean he deserves a free pass to use one.

Same goes to people who gets carried. You don't get a free pass doing a content because you pay sub. You have to play bare minimum in raids and other content that require huge dps checks.
So if 1 guy in the group doesnt fill his shoes up and cause the enrage of a boss, he/she shouldn't be there in the first place, so no that person doesn't deserve getting a free pass just because they pay the sub.

Some people actually enjoy min-maxing their jobs, and creating guides/testing out which stats are the best per job in order to, not only further their own progress, but to help this community. Advocating for the permanent ban of individuals that do all this work and research with ZERO COMPENSATION or ZERO REASON TO DO SO other than out of the kindness of their hearts, is a truly miserable mindset to have.

How many of your friends in-game do you think use parsers? I can guarantee: at least one. You probably are unaware of it, since I'm sure they know you're on some pointless crusade to Rid the FFXIV Community of Evil People That Parse, and would rather not get reported/suspended/banned/whatever just because you act like ACT kicked your puppy or something. How someone could be so incredibly (hate to use the word) toxic is just baffling. I've seen some poor behavior and attitudes on behalf of individuals in this game, but yours truly takes the cake here.

They don\\'t deserve a free pass either. So then If you can figure it out without a parser then sure, kick people. But anyone who uses a parser, be it for YouTube/guides/ whatever, should be ban if there\\'s evidence.
