Deaspected Crystals - lore, helm, and garleans

So is there no more ways to get Deaspected Crystals in game(aside from wards?) It seems like months since garleans attacked and you got these as rewards. I had 22 so I went ahead and bought 8 and got the coolest helm ever:


Being months old, its sure not as good as it used to be BUT it looks awesome. Better than the blue CE version of the helm.

So can anyone go into detail with what deaspected crystals are lore wise?

IIRC they're leftover shells from when Primals are summoned, that or the Primals eat the energy from crystals. Something to that extent.

The garlean invasions was first near the level 20 camps (1.18), then near camp emerald moos and camp glory (1.19).
Maybe there is an invasion in 1.20 anywhere, too. Or they withdrew for the time to make a big attack in the next updates.

I've not heard any town criers

Yes, presumably, you can still get them from Garlean attacks, we just haven't found where the 1.20 attack takes place. It might be on hold for the holidays or something.


And lore wise, I do believe deaspected crystals are created when a beast saps the aether from it. That's how all the mobs got bigger. The crystals used to summon Primals are Unaspected crystals, which is something a little different.

have not seen or heard of any Garlien attacks since the starlight celebration started up. Perhaps the garleans observe the holiday as well? Or perhaps there focusing there attention on project meteor.

you can use them to take the helmet in OP picture.Otherwise, it's just lore items

There is an NPC in Gridania that will take the crystals and give you things in exchange. The aforementioned helm is the prize gear, but you can also get shards of any type.
