I've been clearing up to v3s for a few weeks only through pugs and it's definitely possible, the closer to reset day you try to clear the better chances you'll have, i've noticed. As for v4s, ive been at neo enrage through pugs so a clear isn't impossible there either. The trouble is finding a group that can do the damage and the mechanics.
