Am I misplaced or did SE forget to put in The One River?

I was looking at the maps for the Azim Steppe and noticed that The One River should clearly be running near parts of it. As seen below:

When you go to the part where a river should be you dont see anything, not even an indication of a river.

You can see the river later flows into Yanxia and it takes up a good portion of the map.

Did I miss something in the lore where it maybe goes underground? That’s a pretty big river to suddenly hide and then for it to resurface later. I didn’t notice anything on the steppe map indicating that the little rivers that flow across that might be little offshoots of The One River. Are the maps just inaccurate? Any Ideas?

I'm pretty sure the overlay of Othard's zones on the world map is just incorrect, though I'm not sure where the Nhaama Desert is supposed to be on the world map with that in mind.

So, I actually put some thought into this not too long ago and came to the conclusion that the part of the Steppes that we can visit is solely it's northwestern portion bordering the northeastern edge of the Nhaama Desert (marked as "The Nhaama" on the world map). The desert is actually marked on the zone map, too, in the location pictured above.

Onsal Hakair is the region around the One River, which you can visit in-game - Mol Iloh is located there south of the Tail Mountains. The large canyon to its east has a river flowing into it. I believe the waterfall feeds into the One River. This would also be why more Steppe is visible across the canyon, and why the Bay of Yanxia is not.

I also advise not heeding the region maps for geography. Even though they added them in Stormblood, not one of them actually corresponds to the world map. Take a look at La Noscea to see what I mean. They are horribly inaccurate and I doubt fitting into the world map like puzzle pieces was ever their intent.

Yeah, the region maps are incredibly inaccurate - they place the player in the middle of Yanxia, even when they're actually puttering around the Ruby Sea, for example.
