Despite I'd say 75-80% of my experiences having been mostly positive, I always keep my expectations low. If someone's new, I don't care. No one does, but speak up. No one will be able to help if they don't say something, otherwise the party's going to assume they're on an alt or something like that. My only expectations of anyone is to at least know the basics of their class, and be open to advice if it's given, and of course...speak up if someone's new. Most people in this game really do want to help. In my 4 years, I'd say the majority of the community is at least decent. There are jerks, yes, but they're everywhere on the internet or off. But people shouldn't let that deter them from asking for help, or be willing to read a summary someone took the time to type out for them. Those are my only expectations, beyond that I have none.

Thats why I stick to Dps or heals sadly, as much as I'd love to get some experience on war.
As as tank, you hardly have to do anything. Group them up, spam your aoe hate and rotate cooldowns. The healer is the one doing all the work in keeping your ass alive.

The first few seconds after a big pull are the most dangerous. It is recommended to use holmgang there. Then once the healer has regen/shields on you and is spamming their cure, it should be smooth sailing as long as the healer doesn't blow through their MP and the dps is competent, actually using their aoe skills.

It's always more fun for me if it's a nice run where no one's blaming someone else for not playing like they want them to. I would much rather help someone new learn the ropes than try to push everyone as fast or faster than they can handle then get upset if it doesn't work out.
It's not a few seconds. Doing normal pulls causes dungeons to take between 20-30 minutes. Doing large pulls finishes them in 15-20. You save 5-10 minutes.

Yes. Speed is the key indicator of a good run.
Because a good, clean run with everyone doing their job properly will be faster.

That being said, baby pulls are fine. I won't leave a duty because of them.
The odd wipe is fine, because humans make mistakes.
However what determines a "good run" for me is how fast it's cleared.

If wipes or deaths happen due to failed mechanics in a duty, I generally just live with it and try to explain the fight / reason we wiped or failed.
If wipes or deaths happen because players just don't know basic functionality of their job at level 70 (or even 60+), then that's a different story.

In terms of players who are just not very skilled.. My biggest gripes are-
    - DPS not doing AoE on big pulls.
    - Tanks losing hate.
    - Tanks not using buffs.
    - Healers doing NOTHING between heals.

If those basic functions are not done, I will speak up (a few times if necessary).
Generally in a manor such as..
"Hey xxxx, can you please use AoE skills when the tank pulls 4 or more mobs."

Tanks who can tank, including proper usage of defensive cooldowns and keeping hate. Healers who can keep their group alive and at least try to do some dps IF the party/tank allows to do so. DPS players who at least know a bit of their class and don't just use single target skills. This is acceptable for me. Do i get that often? No.

I did notice a change in player skill / performance since Stormblood. See a lot less Dragoons not using Heavy Thrust, Monks keep their stacks up, Sumonners use Aetherflow ... What I do see a lot of still is people not doing their positionals in low level content. I don't know if they don't do it out of boredom or because they are not aware. Having done almost 1200 mentor roulettes, I must say that in almost all cases, the party is actually quite decent. I think this doom and gloom of bad DF people is overrated. In Extreme content, on the other hand, well I've seen some terrible stuff there, very irresponsible players.
Personally, I just expect all players to be fully activate and dedicated and not stand there auto attacking half of the dungeon. Do the basics right, DPS a bit as a healer, dictate a nice pace as the tank and I'm golden.

Neither is being arsed to put in some thought and consideration in what you do when you queue up for GROUP content.

A lot of people are only in that group content because the game forces them to be there. I wouldn't be surprised if the impatient and judgmental attitudes like many in this thread are the reason we got squadrons and the ability to take them into dungeons. So people who just want to get through the MSQ aren't berated and bullied when they aren't up to someone's exacting standards.

Or maybe the ones who are impatient will use them and I can enjoy DF with the newbs in peace.
