    Questions about the end game

    I am woundering about the options available at lvl 70 for players who can't join a raiding guild.

    I have limited playtime so I can't raid on a regular basis and usualy focus on solo/group content while tagging on a raid night when I can.

    So I'm wondering about what are my options to decide wich class I will continue to level.

    So far my favorite class is my samourai now lvl 62. I anjoy playing it a lot but the problem is the queue time on DPS. Queuing as a DPS for daily roulette is taking up too much time for me. When I have only 45-60min of playtime I can't really afford a 30min+ queue.

    So I'm wondering if the end game for none raider is all about roulette queue time ? If so I will probably just switch to level my AST. I don't anjoy him as much as my SAM but I can't afford leveling a class that I won't be able to play half the time I could log on into the game.

    I'll list just a few:
    - level to 70 other jobs to see how they are and maybe find one you have more fun with, who knows;
    - all the crafting stuff still a world to discover;
    - all gold saucer games and minigames and vermilion and chocobo races and triple triad;
    - all the extreme primals can be learnt without a static;
    - I'm sure I missed still a lot more...

    Last but not least, you still can create your party finder with "learning" tag for the raid you'd like put your nose in. Surely some kid that still haven't completely learnt how to read will butt in and rage at first wipe, but I'm sure there is a lot of people in your situation and will gladly join such party.

    Don't need an FC to raid.

    The current tier at least is completely doable through party finder.
    Though since you're a little late to the party this tier, you might have a tough time clearing it before next cycle as there will be limited learning parties (but you can always make your own).

    When it comes to roulettes etc, don't let DPS queue times deter you.
    I sit in queue for about 20 mins tops as a DPS main for my daily roulette on my data center..

    Would 45-60 be enough time to raid, not even counting queue.

    Most static raid groups raid 3 days a week a 3 hours, some do more, some do less. However, if you're using pf, you can always leave after an hour. 45-60 min is not very much though, getting a full group through pf and getting in enough progression with it in that time to eventually clear, I think that's highly doubtful. But each person learns with a different pace, if you're a fast learner, you might be able to pull it off. If you want to do the end game raids you want to thoroughly learn the fights. In the end you'll have to try and see if that is possible for you with your limited playtime.

    Sure, it would just take you a bit longer to clear (in terms of days).
    Skill level dependent of course, but realistically the first fight you can learn pretty quickly as the mechanics are mostly repeated throughout the whole fight with slight variations. You can pretty much just react to it once you understand the basics of the mechanics.
    The 2nd fight is a little more difficult as you have to be a bit more pre-emptive with your movements, and it will likely take a few weeks to clear through PF if you're only raiding for an hour every few days..
    3&4 is a bigger jump in difficulty and will likely take you quite a while if you're only running for an hour.

    Should at least give 1 & 2 a go though.

    This is all excluding the time it takes to get a party together though..

    You can raid without a static, sure it is a bit more difficult and frustrating, but clearly not impossible.

    This are the questions you need to ask yourself tho,

    1) do I want to raid via PF
    2) do I want to raid via RF/DF (if available and applicable ofc)
    3) do I want to join a FC
    that might have a casual raid schedule, aka once a week or very casual

    Because these points do matter, especially when you're asking about the job. Normally we always say, that you should be playing the job you enjoy the most, but let me try to explain this a bit, because raiding is a complete different aisle.

    If you plan on using the party finder later on, you probably not going to raid as your favorite SAM because there are millions out there, and most groups don't take double/triple jobs. Having therefore always a other dps class to switch to, gives you more possible options. Best would be leveling a tank and healer because that just opens the golden doors to nearly every PF and even statics.

    If you use RF/DF, then it wont matter because the system doesn't care what job it's throws together, and only looks for the tag (dps), hence you end up a lot in parties that have 3 bards, 3 blms, 3 mnks etc. But might take longer to acquire specific loot, since you are rolling "need" against 3-5 other people, not applicaable if it's something like omega regular that has a "token/page/book" system.

    And while I personally love that system better then the actual PF, it will depend on the data center. If you are on a server, that is known to have a great data center backing it up, you will jump in and out of raid turns every week and have no problems/frustrations at all. But if you end up on some servers, that have a horrible data center in general, you will end up not getting anything done and probably quit.

    There are some FC's/statics out there, that have a very casual take on raids, and due to their busy life they might raid once a week or even once every 2 weeks etc. That's nice if you just want to see the content, and maybe beat it at a much much lower pace, if even. This is not meant for people that actually want to participate in raiding but can't invest the time and don't want to go with DF/RF/PF. Here also, most of these groups even if absolute casual, won't take double/triple job layout.

    Again you have to ask yourself, what am I looking for/at, and how much time/effort I am willing to spend. Do I have a 2nd/3rd dps job I could switch too, if I chose method 1? Would I be willing to level a tank or healer, giving me that option to applied to not just regular PF parties, but also maybe mid core statics with a more flexible schedule? The answer and path you chose is yours.
