Because mocking and sarcasm on the internet fails more frequently than it succeeds. On the internet, if you've got something to say, then say it. Traditionally, the best equipment in Final fantasy series was never locked behind tough end-game bosses. You could get the best gear before fighting them because that was the point, why would you need even better gear after defeating them already? We can say the same, it's useless for raiders too unless they want to make subsequent runs easier. But, then again, casuals want to make their Exper roulette easier too so goal generally is the same.

Wyrmhero blade is actually a pretty bad weapon compared to Tournesol, Zodiac Spear, Excalibur, and especially Masamune. Plus at that point there's nothing left to use it on so nobody really wanted it.

At least the hunts are more interesting this time around and even the A ranks have some mechanics to worry about instead of just being a gank fest. That damn Oni Yumemi.

But I agree with the OP. The best MMOs have multiple ways to get the best gear, either a harder, quicker way or a longer, more time consuming way.

eh, that's only because our gear is fairly low still. Just wait till the next tomestone tier and these hunts are gonna melt like nothing again.

It just promotes salt about hunts being stale content yet not waiting for the entire server to arrive before pulling, especially the HW ones.

You'll probably get upgrade items weekly through the Ivalice raid anyway.

No?... You can get by faaaar the best weapon in Zodiac version (Seitengrat with 224 attack and 75 evade) right when you unlock airships near start of the game, there are countless youtube guides for it. And the rest of ultimate weapons, armor and accessories are easily acquired from chests or bazaar/crafting. Wyrmhero blade and such can be stolen in Trials mode on fairly low levels as well.
