From the word of the devs, if you gave up on A4S (gordias 4) you might aswell give up on phase 1
If you hit a wall on phase 1 also go home if possible

Every content is nerfed and easy beyond boredom, if somebody can't access and try 1 single content featuring bosses already seen, it is not the end of the world.
People need an ultimate goal to look at, need a reason to log-in and improve and this is what the ultimate raid is. It has to be locked.... in a few patches all the raids - V4 included - will be super easy and everybody will have access to it. It's just a matter of time...

But it's gated behind clearing the game once.

Kingdom hearts series have critical mode (with option to lock at lv 1)

and some games in the sereis you don't even have to clear the game to unlock the mode.

But I prefer Ultimate content locked behind O4S.

I have no idea how this is still going Im sorry but, thats like me walking into omega and askin why I dont have access to o4s? Why wouldnt this content be gated most of the players not even gona be able to do it anyway so why does it matter

There are no games where you can go at level 1 to the last boss.

Not quite sure but if you mean low level, Chrono Trigger certainly allows you to, if you know the hidden way to do it, you'll just get battered into paste.

What I'm reading : "Hey, i'm level 1, I just created a character, why can't I enter A4S immediatly and get the mount ?? I pay the same sub as other, the content shouldn't be gated !!"

It's not irrationnal to ask for a minimum check like "did you win O4S ?" before being allowed to enter the content, it's like "do you have the min level and ilevel" but with "do you have the min skill level" to enter the content.

PS: And i'll never see this content either, the last savage I did is A1S when farming for relic, and Ravana EX when doing it for Khloe. Both equiped with ilvl 270, so no difficulty just faceroll.

Because it shouldn't matter how hard it is? Denying people things because they can't clear it anyway is uncessary exlcusion. See earlier post.

I didn't have access to the Moogle beast tribe because I avoided all crafting. was this unnecessary exclusion?

More recently, Breath of the Wild lets you march straight to the last boss as soon as you're done with the intro pretty much.

The final bosses in those games aren't really meant to be the most challenging though. It would be better to say that you wouldn't just straight to Ruby Weapon in FF VII, Ozma in FF IX, or Penance in FF X right after starting up the game.
