Return of a legend + New Hildebrand quests = The return of Gilgamesh!

Legend = Bahamut, and we know he's back with 2 others FF XIV legends, so it can match too ^^
So, randomly occurred to me; Lakshmi wasn't the first time we saw blue Flames used to temper. Nor the first we had a circle of protection to show we were unaffected (though first time we did it deliberately)
Can someone compare our encounter with ifrit? Personally won't be able toyself until later, wanted to get the thought out...
Ifrit useing blue flames sound familiar i think.
I suppose it's possible that things go so badly that Lyse has little choice but to free Fordola and request her aid - given that she has the artificial Echo and is, presumably, immune to Tempering as well. The Warrior of Light can handle a Primal easily enough but if it's being summoned in a location where there's a lot of people without the Echo then a high priority is going to be to prevent as many people as possible from being Tempered. Given that we cannot access Ala Mhigo in-game, I also have to wonder if we'll be seeing it suffer a heavy blow and be in need of repairs. It got by relatively unscathed during the battle to take down Zenos, though...and the Royal Menagerie is supposedly being made accessible again as of 4.1. We'll have to see if that's permanently or temporary.

The dungeon map of Ala Mhigo looks like it could be made into an actual city so easily and I really hope it is. We have zones locked to other players based on MSQ throughout the expansions, why not the city of Ala Mhigo!? I mean... we're going to see the Doman Enclave get up and running somewhat too, right? It feels like that is being set-up at least... give me my Mhigo too!I suppose it's possible that things go so badly that Lyse has little choice but to free Fordola and request her aid - given that she has the artificial Echo and is, presumably, immune to Tempering as well. Folding Fordola back into the MSQ has the chance to be a great lens to view the Rise and Fall of Imperial Ala Mhigo. She's a great foil to Lyse, down to the fact neither of them truly knew an "Ala Mhigan Ala Mhigo." I can't remember Lyse's age when the city fell... but even then I recall she was young, which means most of her time was probably under the King of Ruin and much of her actual life was completely outside of Gyr Abania's borders.
Since we see a more active use of the Echo's Temper immunity yet again I have to wonder what's caused this change? Did the dev team thing people weren't adequately grasping that our immunity was special, lol? I would've chalked it up to some malarkey with the Blessing and the Echo but Arenvald seems to use it as well. Ah well, maybe they'll explain it next week.

I'm terribly biased since I'm a role-player but I'd definitely love to see Ala Mhigo unlocked fully for exploration. Perhaps not immediately but at some point in the expansion. I know a lot of people who role-play Ala Mhigan characters who would be delighted by such a move. Ideally, though, it'd need to be accessible by multiple people at the same time rather than as a solo instance. Which makes me a little wary, since so far we haven't really had any new non instanced zones created during an actual expansion. So, to temper (heh...) my expectations I'm just going to assume we'll get an NPC standing outside the breached city gates who, when spoken to, will take us to the throne room and/or Royal Menagerie as needed.
As for the use of the immunity to Tempering, I suppose we'll get more information as to how the Echo works and what it can do as we move forward through the patches. If Arenvald and others with the Echo can be taught to use it then it could very well be a turning point in the ongoing struggle with Primals/Eikons. If it turns out that Fordola can do it as well then that opens up a lot of possibilities for any Resonant that happen to remain.

To be fair, the echo preventing Tempering has been a pretty explicit fact throughout the game. It was even directly referenced with Krile, who they agreed should be the one to investigate the Warring Triad since she was immune to Tempering due to the Echo. Similarly, one of the plot twists regarding Shiva was that Ysale had the echo. While the characters previously though that she might have summoned Shiva and been Tempered, her revealing that she had the echo (the 'hear, think, feel') meant that she was controlling Shiva and not the other way around. Similarly, all of the 1.0 player characters were part of the Path of the 12, and thus assumed to have the Echo. This is why they're the ones to fight Primals most effectively, because they're completely immune. One of the most interesting ideas regarding the Echo is one put forth by Urianger in Stormblood, who said that the Echo might be some sort of hypersensitivity to Aether. If that were the case, it makes sense as an ability that can be imparted by various means, whether through the actions of gods such as and Hydaelyn and Zodiark, or through genetic modification like the Resonant. It would make sense that the gods would be better at bestowing such abilities though, hence Fordola's vulnerability to Aether flashbangs and the other negative physical effects (like death) of the Resonant process.
Either way, seeing Arvenvald in the main story cutscenes is both promising and fun!
