The Echo is known to have an 'interaction between souls' type of deal and this combined with the fact that Fordola so deftly avoided blows from an opponent she never faced despite being fairly average in all regards just prior is what Urianger uses to posit his theory.

That being said, the Echo not only regaining significance outside of being used to give us exposition but also the introduction of an artificial variant attainted through bioexperimentation were the highlights of Main Scenario for me so I'm looking forward to more as well.

Huh. The Drowned City of Skalla requires some degree of 4.1 MSQ completion which means it's probably ... related to the MSQ? This is weird, right? I can't think of a reason to go down there for the story unless it relates to the weird tempering effect coming out of the Throne Room's water... could that final boss be Maduin!? The portrait kind of looks like the FF6 sprite if you squint and Madeen from FF9 is apparently Madiun and looks similar to the nightmarish manticore if you squint harder...

If I were to guess that it would take place within the first few quests of the MSQ given the names Arenvald's Adventure and the Darkness below are the first two revealed quest names. But that's just assumption on my part.

I think the Legend Returns is clearly referring to the Eyes of Nidhogg which are going to once again come back somehow! >_>

That blue thing in the background looks like one of these.

Background scenery or a new enemy type?

It actually looks like one of the elephant statues but without the ears, the green thing looks like a trunk.

Oh yeah, I see it now. Thanks! The orange circle around it due to the camera angle made it look like an enemy spawning.
But when that happens it's usually a purple one.

A theory I have kicking around is that it could be connected to the Ala Mhigan civil war of 20 years ago.

We know that the worship of Rhalgr in Ala Mhigo stems from the beliefs of the Eorzeans who settled there after the Sixth Umbral Calamity and that it didn't become the state sanctioned religion until Manfred tried to curry favour with the Fist of Rhalgr after the Autumn War about a century ago. And when Theodoric tried to oust the Fist from politics the first thing he did was decreeing the worship of Nymeia as the official religion of the state. So far there hasn't been any kind of explanation why he chose the Spinner as the new patron deity of Ala Mhigo, but it's possible that he simply appropiated the religion of the Gyr Abanians that are descended from the Skallans for his own purposes. Religious oppression towards those who didn't venerate Rhalgr would have been a convenient pretext for him to clamp down on the Fists influence.

And now that we're trying to set up a new government in Ala Mhigo, the folks who actually worship Nymeia because their great-grandparents umpteen generations ago did so and not because king crazypants told them to may want to clear things up a bit. That could involve a trip to the Drowned City to dig up some evidence that Theodoric didn't invent the entire faith out of whole cloth.

Hm...one other bit of speculation I have regarding the 'Return to Ivalice' scenario. I know that some people got very excited when they saw our players talking to Ramza during the trailer, I have a theory regarding that. Namely, that there probably won't be literally Ramza. If they want any of the classic FF Tactics (or FFXII) characters to show up, they will...as actors. I wouldn't be surprised if the cast members on the Prima Vista are major NPCs, and many of them will be playing characters from the legend. I personally don't think that the whole story will be some sort of minstrel's ballad sort of scenario, but that's how the characters from other games will appear.
