Namazu Apperciation Thread!

I love these little guys. They're probably my favorite new creature to join FFXIV in Stormblood.

I'm hoping they're one of our beast tribes for Stormblood. I would love more lore and story from these adorable little catfish.

Where my other Namazu lovers at?

Also is anyone else disappointed that the Namazu minion doesn't squeak when he walks? I know I was.

Yeah I want to see them as a beast tribe. The minion does at least fall over and do the eyes

My bet is they'll be the crafting tribe. The Ananta had the potential, what with being goldsmiths, but the tribe we're friendly with is the more combatant one. Plus, they're in the same map as the hostile section of their race, making battle missions much likelier. Same for the Kojin, despite them being merchants.
Meanwhile the Namazu are in their little mansion in south-west Yanxia and are told to be both merchants and in charge of rebuilding that area. I wouldn't be surprised if they'll tie it in with the reconstruction of the Doman Enclave, similar to how the Moogles helped rebuild Bahrr Lehs.

As for liking them, I still have the 'main story' quest line to run through, but the part where they explained the bells was so endearing, gosh T.T I want that minion now.

I appreciate them... For having a very football-like shape, perfect for aerodynamic flight through the stratosphere as you kick them.

As a beast tribe to add quests for, I'd put them in the bottom of my want-list, with Kojin barely edging them out.
Ananta and Qiqirn would be the top two to add quests for IMO (and maybe a Qiqirn primal, finally?)

Though Namazu do have an obvious choice for a primal; the... well... Namazu. Giant catfish that causes earthquakes. Guess they could make it 'mud' themed or something to avoid trampling on Titan/Leviathan.

I'm pretty sure I run into a manor of Namazu at Yanxia. I believe they will become a beastman tribe at one point. As for crafting tribe... I think the snake people will probably make better sense from a lore point of view? They are known to specialize in jewelry if my memory is right... For now we will be getting the ninja turtles in 4.1, flying pizza mount please! XD
