I already posted this in another thread but I figured I'd go ahead and make a separate thread for it for the sake of more visibility. It is my humble, firm belief that the chat restrictions in The Feast are problematic. There's been a huge amount of feedback in other threads as to why, exactly, that is a fairly common belief so in the interest of efficiency and ease of reading I won't go into that here.

Now, the Mentor system was introduced to encourage players to teach those with less knowledge about the game. There's even an option for Mentors to flag themselves as specifically being focused on PvP. That does not mean that players who are unfamiliar with PvP are going to actively seek out PvP flagged mentors for advice.

So, a solid compromise would be to allow players who are flagged as Mentors to communicate without restrictions in PvP. There's a good chance some of them may ver well be 'toxic' which is apparently the development team's concern and reasoning for implementing the restriction in the first place.

Yet simply stripping the Mentor status from players proven to be 'toxic' would be a solid workaround. It'd act as an incentive for Mentor players to keep calm, constructive and indulge in good sportsmanship. I do not think that the Mentor status should be denied to a player indefinitely - especially when it is tied to achievements and in-game rewards. A three month ban on being a Mentor would suffice, I feel. Stacking, perhaps, if there are further reports once the ban is lifted.
