Yeah, but then again... blade and soul not only make the gear different for the males and females but also the races. Some females have less gear than others, for example 1 wear miniskirt or shorts while the other one a long dress or jeans. Their money mainly comes from this and games like that vanity is a very big thing, kinda funny which ff14 is all about too. But I recon they would need to spend more ''resources'' on FF14 to do this, hence probably why they wont. But the thing is that males who complains about this often want to crossdress, which I have nothing againts. However Blade and soul doesn't do that, they make the gear just look more manly I guess.

Confess, I bought it yesterday as soon as I heard it was available, and I've been looking at all the fine details. Have you noticed how the colors are a roiling, shifting wonder of blacks, greys, deep blues, deep violets?

I don't know how the colorization works here, but I would imagine, applying a dye, would destroy that fine fine detail, and you'd end up with a plain, perhaps slightly metallic, solid color?

Just mentioning in passing. I don't think it would look nearly as good, dyed. Or, would no longer have the same achieved effect.

If it's just the overall style you like - the cut, the drape, the flounce-ability - then certainly, dyeing would be desirable!

I don't see how asking for equality is "entitlement". Is it really so hard to understand that people are upset with SE for not releasing nearly as many male-only glamours as they do female? Yes, Edda is a female NPC and her outfit is female-only- that is a no-brainer. What is dumb is that they didn't put forth the effort into making a male version of it.

I agree with ya Hestzhyen. (Im one whos also upset u cant earn it in game too)
but when it comes to selling outfits in cash shops, its almost always the female outfits that bring in all the money.
(some MMOs purposely even make outfits they know wont sell, to avoid ppl complaining. And not just about gender disparity either.)

But they already had the item ingame thus they needed less time to create it. (The whole process of designing it for the first time is already done) So there is already less money used to make it into a cash shop item. Seeing how you also would get the money from selling a male version, one could use that estimated money to make a trouser for that outfit. They could sell it as a female/male version that just changes depending on the gender so they dont need to sell two of them. This way you might have some more income which will finance the cost that was needed to create the male version and you will make your whole playerbase happy and not create yet another negative point for your game.

It just feels that there is someone in charge of these decisions that only looks at numbers alone..never taking all the other parts into their decision.

The first version of FF13 clothes were not dyeable, same for the starlight set (x-mas) and they made it dyeable in a patch. I see no excuse for non-dyeable outfits.

I think this one might lose it's texturing if it was dyed. I haven't looked at it too closely(since still trying to figure out what to glam it with...) but that could be a reason behind it(as half-assed as that reason would be).

I've always been in the camp of Equal Glamour options for both genders. That said, I don't really see a male version of the Edda Outfit. Not unless you want to dress like Ciel from Black Butler, and really, that'd more or less be taking the level 50 Weaver set, removing the more weaver-elements of it, and adding a version of the Songbird outfits' hat that comes with an eyepatch.

Almost every item, especially leathers and metals lose theeir original textures when dyed. Starlight and Chinese outfits for example lose their shiny texture when dyed. They need to be dyed one of the metallic dyes to keep the shine.

So that's really not an excuse...

I'd wear that if they managed to sufficiently set it apart from the Butler set. And kept the texture
