Unable to complete version check. [30410][30607][10009][19900][12175]

    Hello!
My friend Aidan Spellmen was attempting to rejoin the game after a couple years hiatus, when he started getting the above title error, Unable to complete version check. [30410][30607][10009][19900][12175]. Due to the forums REQUIRING you to have logged into the game within 14-days.

I am posting on his behalf:

    Unable to complete version check.[30410][30607][10009][19900][12175]

I am returning to the game (Or thought so) after a few years. I have last played Nov 2014, on the same PC I am currently having this issue on - so it was playable at one point, for some reason. I am on the same equipment, only the RAM and Graphics card have been upgraded. Nothing points to either of these changes being related, from what tech and others have said. I am also having NO issues, at all, on my PC with anything else, nor any other game I play.

For the past 4 days straight, I have been doing everything I have read from others and the techs. The only other time I have seen a post about this issue, the person full reinstalled their OS - this is NOT an acceptable answer for me, as it doesn't even tell me what the cause is, to start with, that could be fixed in another, much easier way.

I have done every DNS listed under suggestions, along with using cmd to flush the DNS between changes, and relaunched the launcher.

I have done all of the following from Tech suggestions:

Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Support,

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.

Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
    [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    Please RESTART your PC now.
Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ?TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    Email #2

Regarding your request for technical support. Please find your answer below.

If an error message such as ?The version checker failed? or ?Unable to update to the latest version? is displayed and the game fails to update to the latest version, please try the following depending on the error code that is displayed.

For error code "[30410][30607][20457][410]" and variants
Please restart Final Fantasy XIV. If the situation does not improve after restarting, please try the following.
    ?Delete temporary internet files.
?Do not use a proxy server or try switching to another proxy server.
    ?Reinstall ?Final Fantasy XIV.?

Additionally, one of the causes could be that the cache remains on network being used. If this is the case, once the cache clears after time has passed, the patch will go into effect normally, so please wait a while and try again at a later time.

For error code "[30410][30607][20457][409]" and variants
The version cannot be updated because there is a problem with the executable file.
    Please reinstall ?Final Fantasy XIV.?

For error code "[20458][24530][20457][410]" and variants
A response cannot be obtained from the server due to the high amount of people attempting to access it. Please close the application and try restarting it after waiting for a while.

Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.

    —-------------------------------------------------------

The final Email told me to post on the forums, here.

I have checked with my ISPs, they are not blocking any of these ports (Yes, I have TWO ISPs available to pick, a Cable or DSL connection. I am Broadband as well. Both still yield the error) I can even ping the Patcher's IP address and we've used wireshark to see I am communicating with it just fine.

This takes ISP/DNS/Router off the possible cause.

    I have installed/reinstalled the launcher/patcher over 30 times.

I have done all of the above with Internet Explorer 11. I am on Windows 7, Edge isn't installed. I have lowered my IE Security to absolute Zero or lowest possible and did all of the above suggested.

I have even had someone send me the entire installed game via Zip and unzipped it to the proper location, and it still doesn't work.

I have NO anti-virus, I got full rid of Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender is off. I am as exposed as possible, that windows is complaining like mad about it.

I have booted up in Safe Mode (With Networking) to make sure I have only the programs needed for windows to function and the internet - and I still get the error.

I have exhausted all the possible issues and tech has been unable to help.
    Could we get assistance?
    Thanks!

Go to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\ open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in word pad or notepad.

    You should see this

<FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>

    <Version>
    Version 2
    Language 1
    Region 2
    EulaAgreement 1
    StartupCompleted 1
    B4EulaAgreement 1
BootVersionCheckMode 0 (change this value to 1) This will force the launcher to update itself. Run the launcher and it should update to the newest version. Once updated, you should be good to go to login and download the new patch(s)

He already tried that several times at this point. Also tried setting IE to be his default Browser. Cleaned all temp files, restarted PC a few more times between after another fresh install of the patcher/launcher.
He's literally getting the error here:

Did you tried everything in the mail from SE? Like starting as admin (or not if you do so)?
Im sad that maybe just a new installation of the game will help.

He literally did everything in the email, precisely as they asked him to do so. There has been no change... he just can't get past that error message.

We checked on a different PC on the same network, and it worked on THAT computer, however still failing on the computer that's relevant... We attempted to do our own troubleshooting the problem computer and the issue looks like a certificate error, but cannot tell without knowing what's on SE's patcher end?

I see this was posted a while back, did you ever resolve the problem?

If the issue still persists; what once worked for me to solve this was to make sure "Read only" was disabled in Properties for the configuration files under "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\".
