Guys, calm down, it's TOO HARD to implement a system where dropped items go to loot list. No other game ever has implemented such an innovative feature, this would be a world first, give them time, and maybe in 2.2 we finally get our wish

I am not exaggerating the number of kills.. I see my friends getting so many doubles. Even thought of contacting a GM to get them to trade the item but they won't do it..
In the last 5 runs I saw one person get 3 swords, another got bow and spear, and one got axe. There were 8 Kupo nuts across all runs. Out of all this I got 0 weapons 0 nuts. The system is not fair or rewarding in any way. Simply because there is the random element means you could get 7/7 or in my case 0/105
0/105 hmm really hard to swallow... I do believe that the drop rate has gone up slightly. I myself have 7/7 ifrit weapons with about 200 wins all done pre 1.20 and now I am 3/7 moogle weapons with under 20 wins. Worst in our linkshell that actually has a weapons is about 1/10 ish. I have been talking to other linkshells and players and it really doesnt seem that bad of a drop rate on moogle. Any shell that can consistently kill moogle seems to have a decent amount of weapons well distributed amongst their members. Now... I am not saying that 0/105 is utter BS but...maybe I am.
PS. How many Kirin's did you do before you got your W.Legs? (This question goes out to everyone)
PS.S How many hours did you spend camping Ulli/Despot and other NM's to get that sexy Haidate or Osode?
You really think that its worse than moogle? Please...getting moogle weapons or ifrit weapons do not by any circumstances require nearly as much effort as acquiring Sky Gear (which was the easiest gear to get).
"Online gamers are the most ludicrously entitled beings since Caligula made his horse a senator and at least the horse never said anything stupid."
I do about 4-5 kills each session. and this isnt just on moogle.
46 kills of ifrit pre-patch
35 kills of ifrit after patch
81 ifrit kills in total
24 kills of moogle
I record each kill. If you were on my server you would know these are not fabricated.
They need to copy over FFXI's loot system, just let everything go into a party loot pool and let people lot/pass on it
I agree with the OP I was very lucky with Ifrit drops I think I am 6/7 after 50 runs or so. But I know some folks (runs I went with) that are/were 0/50 for two people I know and several 0/40 when they put the same effort as everyone else did: some runs no deaths, and in some cases beat him in 4 minutes. And they have nothing to show for it, so I can totally understand their frustration.
As with Moogle, you guys are doing it all wrong. You guys don't know how to handle Moogle's Nuts. You gotta... you know... put some lotion... and massage them nuts real nice. Put on a bib that says "I make sandwiches for my manly Moogle" and just massage them nicely and look at him with that sleepy/drugged up look and say:
Yeah you like that don't you... you hairy little white fucker.
By the way XStruckX they can be hard to swallow.
I am drinking right now it is 2012 so back off!
(Using Word to fix every other word that is mispelled)
Half Deer Half Elf with a Moogle... imagine that.
Howdy >(*^.^*)<
The loot system is from VWNM in FFXI.
If they increase the drop rate or introduce loot pools all the hardcore players will just leave since we will have nothing to do. My linkshell doesn't even login because there is no content worth completing anymore.
People will grow tired of running Moogle over and over, drops or no drops. The only difference being is that those who obtained nothing, while their friends are 7/7 will walk away with a bitter taste in their mouth.
What I see people asking for is not at all unreasonable. The drop rate doesn't need to be increased, it needs to be evened out for everyone. Those who are 5/7 and 7/7 can still keep that, but everyone who has run Moogle as many times as those people need to have collected just as many weapons.
Honestly, I think that if they simply refuse to pool the weapons then they need to make it so it no longer drops weapons at all. By opening the chest, you are guaranteed a nut. Maybe knock it down to a weapon requiring 15 nuts, or keep it at 20. No matter which way you look at it, having it this way will make the item acquisition rate even for everyone. It will place a clear goal for everyone to see instead of a gloomy blur with no clear end in sight.
If they want to expand the lifespan of Moogle, they can do it in other ways besides frustrating people who simply want to be on even footing with their friends. They can add achievements such as "Kill Moogle King within x-time" or "Kill Moogle with so many adds up" or just plain introduce hard modes.
So what your saying is that someone that has played for say two months in a shell should have the same rights to gear as someone that has been in the shell for like six years? That's just silly lolthat was more then one shell. It took me a few month to find a decent one and even then I still had some issues. The type of system you said your happy with was one of the ones I wanted to avoid the most in ffxi. It makes it so new players can't catch up to the older ones at all and the players that have been around the longest always get first lot. You get forced to wait till everyone who joined the LS before you gets the drop before you can even go near it. Even then you still end up with people trying to ninja drops.
On topic though, have the dev team ever explained why the loot system in the primal battles is so bad? Just wondering
