I am not sure what is going on, I am able to connect to other internet services but XIV servers is out of reach frequently which is really frustrating.

Issues here too, I play on both Siren and Behemoth, if I manage to connect to either Aether or Primal, it takes upwards of 30 sec for my character lists to appear, and again, if I manage to get through character select and logged into the servers, I'm disconnected very quickly. I'm also in Australia, with Optus. I just renewed my sub 2 days ago, and I've been plagued by this since, sort of regretting it 'cause while I'd love to play that money could have been better used if this persists much longer, pay day is rolling around again soon

Hi getting the same issue as well. I only have one char and I play on behemoth.

From Melbourne Victoria and with Optus too. First time playing after the patch tonight and just cannot play. Taking 15-30 secs on login screen and getting some repeated Error 2002 (lobby server error) from time to time but after a few repeated tries I am in the game but I cannot do anything - getting kicked sometimes instantly or if I do any action (such as summon pet) - Error 90002. If I just stand still and do nothing I can see that red disconnect icon that appears next to player name appears from time to time.

Only started playing about 6 weeks ago and when I first started I got constant 90002 errors but just lived with it because I know its an issue that has plagued a lot of people in this game. Tonight has just been the first time ff14 has been unplayable for me - other times I would get kicked I would be able to log back in and soldier on.

Seems pinging the server I am dropping packets so I hope it gets fixed soon. Level 49 and so so close to 50 ......

This is just a guess but are you sure it's not possibly connected to this?

If so, then it's out of SE's hands as it's a damaged undersea internet cable causing the issue which SE has no control over (it would affect connecting to Japanese servers more than the NA server group, although both would be affected as even the NA servers use connections to Japan for things like login and version checks on the launcher, to say nothing of traffic being rerouted via other internet cables, adding to the backlog.

Either way, it's highly possible that it's nothing SE can do about I'm afraid (if the cause is indeed a broken undersea cable).

D: no wonder my pings are being timed out to japan and HK, the traceroute passes through jp and hk before making a round trip to the us. This is terrible.

I too am Australian and I am with optus. I have done a couple trace routs now in an attempt to try and find either the cause of this issue or a solution to it to no real avail.

I can however say with certainty that the lagg I am receiving in FFXIV that causes 30+ second connections to US data centers and then another 30+ seconds connections to the character select screens on servers with logins that take 3x longer than before are only related to FFXIV alone.

I have been playing many other games online and on US servers with no issues, not even increased ping/latency. I have been able to surf the web, stream at 4k without buffering and download at my full regular speed of ~10MB/s.

I can't think of anything that even remotely makes sense as to why this would be but it looks like it is an FFXIV exclusive problem that for some reason is only affecting Optus users.

With all the research that I have done with my connection I find it to be very likely that whatever is causing this problem is a hop along the way that is very close to the servers as if it wasn't it would be affecting other things also.

I hope someone finds a solution to this as I only just subbed with money that could have better been used for food if its just going to go to waste like this.

Can second that its only the Final Fantasy NA servers that're like this, all other net traffic is fine. I can log onto and play on Chaos and Mana just fine, though I had to create characters on them to test. I can play TERA if I wanted to, latency is normal. I updated Glyph and patched RIFT for the first time in months without a problem, and then login and play with again regular latency.
