I would defer you from healing as well, since higher level play (even in MSQ) demands snappy reactions While SCH does have pre-emptive spells, the recent adjustments force us to rely more and more on our instant cast heals and faerie micromanagement, which could make it uncomfortable for OP.

But I also think going for caster mage (Red Mage, Black Mage, or Summoner) would be a good option. Red Mage is delightful, but you need to be level 50 on another combat job to grab it, so follow Learune's advice!

red mage

healer mages need a fast reaction time sometimes so i don't recommend them.
monk is probably the fastest paced job
